Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: Racail traits are stuffed. Wielding 2 two-handed weapons with no drawbacks, unarmored AC, and flat skill bonus. 2 resistances and vulnerabilities might be too many. Also, a natural weapon with 1d6 damage and finesse? Freezing healing seems very strong and weak at the same time. See 5e Race Design Guide.

Giant Glacier Insects[edit]

In the tallest parts of mountains, where there is nothing but ice and snow lives these giant humanoid creatures. With an insect like appearance, but don't let their appearance fool you, as they can be extremely deadly in combat if used effectively.

Physical Description[edit]

At a height of 8 feet tall and weighing just under 3,000 pounds, these insect like creatures look like a mixture of a bipedal ant and mantis hybrid encased in samurai like armor. Having 4 very strong arms (two where normal human arms are located, and another two just under those arms but more insect like and less armored. Their armor just like ice is light blue indicating that the sun has been reflecting on it for quite a while. Even though it looks like regular armor, this creature's armor is attached to its body as a natural form of defense making it hard to damage them even in their off time.

History[edit]

These giant glacier insects have been roaming the planet's mountains for centuries ever since other races believed to be the start of time itself, throughout these many years they had evolved from tiny normal insects to the giant behemoth warriors they are today, originally getting killed one city at a time by fire drakes, the glacier insects had grown into a very samurai/spartan society where only the strong may go into battle and doing so honorably. Once they had gotten rid of the nearby fire drakes they come across elves who showed them their wisdom in magic, and in so doing so these insects learnt how to speak common and how to use their icy origins to their advantage.

Society[edit]

Giant Glacier Insects believe in a hierarchy society, where each individual has their own place on their own level. The poor gather water and mine for minerals and manage shops, the strong train to be warriors to protect the weak, and the rich hire these warriors for their own benefit. Similar to Spartan society, each strong individual as a child has to go through deadly trials, if they survive they become warriors, if not they die trying. And similar to samurai they prefer an even 1v1 dueling style. However as time passed this overconfidence led them to wanting to face multiple opponents at once.
