Large beast, unaligned Armor Class 15 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Dex +7 Hold Breath. The alligator can hold its breath for 30 minutes. ACTIONSMultiattack. The alligator makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tail. Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (5d4 + 5) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 15). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the alligator can't bite another target. Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target not grappled by the alligator. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

The giant alligators are massive reptilians with razor-sharp teeth. Unlike their larger counterparts, crocodiles, they rely on their dexterity to capture and kill their prey. Normally waiting underwater until the victim gets close, and latching on, immobilizing the target. If that doesn't work they bring their large tail down onto the creature and repeat until either it is dead or the creature. Found majorly in swamps and the occasional forest lakes, they are fetched at high price, but then again, so is your life. |
