Pungent. The mushroom has the effects of stinking cloud (save DC 16) centred on it. If a wind or other effect disperses the cloud, the mushroom recovers it after 3 rounds.

Brute. A melee weapon deals one extra die of its damage when the mushroom hits with it (included in the attack).

Magic Weapons. The Garlic Shaman's weapon attacks count as magical.

Spellcasting. The Garlic Shaman is a 8th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 16, +8 to hit with spell attacks). The Garlic Shaman knows the following spells:

Cantrips (at will): primal savagery, thorn whip, frostbite, chill touch
1st level (4 slots): absorb elements, healing word, thunderwave
2nd level (3 slots): heat metal, moonbeam, wither and bloom, blindness/deafness, gentle repose
3rd level (3 slots): erupting earth, dispel magic, call lightning, animate dead, gaseous form
4th level (2 slots): summon elemental, divination, ice storm, blight, confusion

ACTIONS

Phastone Staff. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 4) Bludgeoning damage and 9 (d8 + 4) Lightning damage. On a natural 20 target must succeed a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn.

Phastone Lightning. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 90 ft., Hit: 10 (d10+4) Lightning damage.

Paralyzing Spores (Recharge 4-6). The mushroom spreads spores in a 20-foot radius. Each creature in that area must succeed a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed until the end of their next turn.

Symbiotic Entity (1/day). For 10 minutes the Garlic Shaman gains 32 temporary hitpoints, Halo of Spores damage increases to 8 (2d6) and its melee attacks deal additional 4 (1d6) Necrotic damage.

REACTIONS

Halo of Spores When a creature the Garlic Shaman can see moves into a space within 10 feet of it or starts its turn there, it can use its reaction to deal 4 (1d6) necrotic damage to that creature unless it succeeds on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw.

Fungal Infestation (4/Day) If a beast or a humanoid that is Small or Medium dies within 10 feet of Garlic Shaman, it can use its reaction to animate it, causing it to stand up immediately with 1 hit point. The creature uses the Zombie stat block in the Monster Manual. It remains animate for 1 hour, after which time it collapses and dies.

In combat, the zombie's turn comes immediately after Garlic Shaman's. It obeys its mental commands, and the only action it can take is the Attack action, making one melee attack.

Leaders of the Garlic mushroom tribes, blessed by Ygredd with druidic magic and wielding powerful phastones, magical opalescent stones forged from a creature's soul.
