Flufftails combine the features of humans and Rabbits. As you can guess Flufftails have many of the features of rabbits including their ears which tend to draw the attention of most females garnering unexpected hugs and cutesy speak, but most Flufftails love the attention and physical contact, the only ones that don't just don't like to be thought of as cute, which tend to be males but the females can't get enough of it.
Flufftails are smaller even than halflings, rarely reaching 4 feet in height. Their fur and skin coloring runs from albino white to coal black, and everything between, though most have red or brown fur and hair but shades of pink and purple are known to occur. They have short, fluffy non-prehensile tails which they are known for and what gave them their name.
Flufftails are born with better motor skills than humans, typically able to crawl within a hour of birth. Otherwise they mature at a similar rate, reaching adulthood earlier at an age of 13. They live about the same number of years as humans to slightly longer with the oldest known reaching 105 years. Flufftails usually don't care to wear clothes. When a circumstance arises in which they do need some sort of clothing, they wear as little as possible. Flufftails are an outgoing race eager to explore, experience, and learn. They may seem unrealistic or simplistic to others, but they are loyal allies and lovers to the end.
Playing an Flufftail
Flufftails are more at one with nature than most and are always weary of those larger than them making them slow to warm to strangers but fiercely loyal to their family and friends. This awkwardness around larger races typically manifests as rudeness which in fact is just their shy nature. Those that manage to befriend a Flufftail them quite loving and those that grow truly close to a Flufftail find that they will try anything at least once including in bed.
In quiet forests of the Feywild and remote woodlands in the world, Flufftails live out of sight and mostly beneath the notice of larger races. Flufftails dwell in homes dug among the roots of trees, easily overlooked and cleverly concealed by camouflage. They are fond of the burrowing mammals that share their habitat, such as badgers, foxes, and most of all rabbits, and have a sense of kinship with these small animals that share their forests. They grow up on games of stealth and silence, in which the winner is the last to be discovered.
Flufftail folk heroes are not mighty warriors, but tricksters who slip out of captivity, play great pranks without being detected, or use their looks or or body to get out of trouble. They deflect both aggression and attention with humor and looking adorable, and they share their thoughts with friendly laughter with those they trust. But all Flufftails are to curious for their own good which gets them into trouble most of the time with larger races but thanks to their childish nature most just let them go off with a warning or help them if they are in danger.
