From D&D Wiki
Eyes of the Raven[edit]
The Eyes of the Raven is a Bodily Relic that takes the form of a pair of rings that are imbedded in the eyes of the person who has this Bodily Relic, these rings are made of a material that is believed to be a strange metal. These rings prevent the irises of the person in question from fully dialating, but emanate an odd energy that seems to allow the person to percieve the world around them better. These rings can be felt by the person who has them, but if they were born with them, they don't notice.
Nature of the Eyes of the Raven[edit]
Physical Affects of the Eyes of the Raven[edit]
This Bodily Relic manifests as a slight discoloration of the iris around the pupil, usually the discoloration is the exact opposite color from what the eyes are (red-green, blue-orange). This Bodily Relic grants the person who has it the ability to percieve the world in a different way than they normally would, catching small details quicker and seeing through lies with ease.
- In game terms the person who has this Bodily Relic has a +2 bonus on all Search, Spot, and Sense Motive checks
Mental Affects of the Eyes of the Raven[edit]
If the person who has this Bodily Relic was not born with it then they will likely have very bad mental problems because of it, a person with this Bodily Relic may find it painful to close their eyes, making sleep nearly impossible until they learn to sleep with their eyes open. Additionally, a person's sight capabilities may be hindered due to the fact that their eyes cannot fully dialate.
- In game terms the person who has this Bodily Relic looses any darkvision they may have had, additionally, a person who has this Bodily Relic but wasn't born with it must succeed a will saving throw each day with a DC of 20 or become exhausted until they finally manage to fall asleep.
Properties of the Eyes of the Raven[edit]
Crafting and Transfering of the Eyes of the Raven[edit]
The Eyes of the Raven is a very painful Bodily Relic to have transferred from one person to another. The process is actually rather simple though, the first item that is needed is the rings from the eyes of someone who already had the Bodily Relic. These rings must be small enough in diameter to fit inside the recipients irises, a medium creatures eyes are too big for a small creature to use the rings, for example. The rings must also be perfectly clean at the beginning of the transfer, nothing can be on them. The rings must be heated until they are white hot and the air around them seems to warp. Once they are in this state they need to be pressed into the irises of the recipient (they do not not need to be concious, but their eyes must be open) until the material completely passes into the eye. This process does not actually damage the eye for some reason.
When the recipient wakes up they will be in immense pain, and must make a fortitude saving throw or take 2d6 temporary Intelligence damage. As soon as the person receiving the Eyes of the Raven becomes accustomed to the feeling of the rings in their eyes they are considered as having the Eyes of the Raven. There is no known way to create the Eyes of the Raven Bodily Relic from other materials. Only a character who has 4 or more ranks in Craft(Bodily Relic) knows any of this information, the craft DC for this entire proccess is 15, if this DC is failed, then the entire proccess fails and the rings are overheated and turn to vapor.
It a person only has one eye with the Eyes of the Raven, they do not receive any benefits from having it. A person who cannot see also cannot have the Eyes of the Raven. If a person was born with the Eyes of the Raven, loses their eyes, and then has a child, then consider them as still having the Bodily Relic.
Immunities of the Eyes of the Raven[edit]
The rings that are the Eyes of the Raven are made of an incredible substance; it will not bend or break due to physical damage, it can be dipped into acid and be pulled back out without a scratch, and it is completely immune to psionic powers. Although, if a person is affected by a psionic power that moves or affects their body in some way, the Eyes of the Raven are affected as though they didn't have any immunities to psionic powers.
Occurances of the Eyes of the Raven[edit]
