Fighter Subclass
The Eye of the Storm is a Fighter subclass that harnesses the raw power of lightning and tempests to dominate the battlefield. These warriors are a force of nature, channeling the fury of storms to strike with precision and control the flow of combat. Their abilities focus on manipulating lightning and wind, allowing them to unleash devastating attacks while keeping enemies off balance.
- Storm Step
Upon choosing this archetype at 3rd level, you gain the ability to move like lightning itself. As a bonus action, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see, leaving a trail of static energy. Creatures within 5 feet of where you appear must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your strength modifier) or be stunned until the end of their next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
- Storm's Embrace
By 7th level, as a reaction when hit by lightning damage or thunder damage you can regain hit points equal to the damage dealt, and your attacks become infused with the power of the storm.
The first time you hit a creature with a weapon attack until the end of your next turn, you deal additional lightning or thunder damage equal to a number of d8 dice equal to your proficiency bonus. The damage dice increases to d10 and d12 at levels 13th and 18th respectively.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1) regaining your uses after a long rest.
- Herald of the Storm
At 10th level, you can use an Action to summon a 30-foot-radius sphere of clouds centered on a point within 15 feet of you. You can use a bonus action to move the cloud 15 feet in any direction, as long as you are within the cloud. Leaving the cloud's perimeter or getting incapacitated disperses it. The cloud is also dispersed after 1 minute You gain the following benefits while in the cloud:
- The area the cloud occupies is heavily obscured to those outside of its perimeter
- You can use a Bonus Action to transform into a lightning bolt and teleport to any point space inside of the cloud. When you do so, you can spend a use of Storm's Embrace to charge a weapon with lightning until the end of your next turn.
- Hitting an enemy with a weapon attack charged with Storm's Embrace will create a chain. Enemies within a 5-foot radius will also receive damage from the Storm's Embrace feature.
- You ignore resistance to lightning or thunder damage.
You may use this feature once. You regain its uses after a short or long rest.
- Eye of the Storm
At 15th Level, the Herald of the Storm feature is amplified. you become the center of a raging storm. When you use your Herald of the Storm feature, you can call upon the full power of the tempest, creating a 30-foot radius storm centered on you. The storm lasts for 1 minute and moves with you. While the storm is active, you gain the benefits of the storm herald feature and the following:
- As an Action, you can conjure lightning bolts to strike down. Choose up to three creatures within the storm; each must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or take 4d6 lightning damage (half on a successful save). At 20th level, you can choose four targets.
- You gain immunity to lightning and thunder damage.
- Ranged weapon attacks against you have disadvantage.
Once you use this feature, you can't do it again until you finish a long rest.
- Stormlord
At 18th Level, you become of a lord of the storms. As an action you can become an avatar of the storm. You gain the following benefits for 1 minute:
- You become hasted.
- You gain the benefits of the Investiture of Lightning spell. You gain the following spell DC: (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your strength modifier)
Once you use this feature, you can't do it again until you finish a long rest.
