Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: Mechanics need tightening up a bit. For example, the chosen spell as written is _any_ 1st level spell. It should at least be a spell you know, or even a sorcerer spell you know. Flavour-wise it's not really clear how this is a sorcerous origin. I don't know what the 14th level feature does exactly, it doesn't seem to make sense.

Expert in one[edit]

Sorcerer Subclass

Everyone didn't take human seriously because he didn't know a lot of different spells. He only used one weak spell in battle. Others used various spells trying to surprise each other. But when a powerful creature appeared on the battlefield, everyone began to flee in fear. Left alone, the Sorcerer stopped restraining the power of his only spell and destroyed the monster with a wave of his hand.

Knowledge of magic

Unlike other Sorcerers, you have perfected some of your magical powers. You were able to change the structure of some spells by strengthening them. This sets you apart from other Sorcerers because you have spent a lot of effort learning the very essence of magic.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose this sorcerous origin at 1st level, you gain proficiency in the Arcana skill.

Favorites of the spell

At 1st level, you choose one 1st level spell. This spell gets additional effects depending on its type:

If the spell deals damage, then your Charisma modifier is added to the damage roll

If the spell does not deal damage, then its duration increases by a value equal to half of the proficiency bonus. For example, at the 1st level of a character, if the duration of the spell is one minute, then after improvement it becomes two minutes. If the duration was 1 hour, then now it will be 2 hours.

Additional improvement

At 6th level, you can donate the maximum spells you know to enhance your chosen spell.

If this spell does damage:

You increase the damage bone by one size(1d4 -> 1d6, 1d6 -> 1d8,1d8 -> 1d10, 1d10 -> 1d12, 1d12 -> 1d20). Reducing the maximum of your spells by two.

You double the range of the spell. Reducing the maximum of your spells by two.

If this spell does not deal damage:

While the spell is in effect, you get +1 to AC and saving throws. Reducing the maximum of your spells by two.

While the spell is in effect, you reduce incoming non-magical damage by half of the proficiency bonus. Reducing the maximum of your spells by two.

You can choose any number of upgrades by reducing the maximum spells you know for each one. Or you can opt out of it by upgrading another spell. Using the skill acquired at the first level.

Incredible power

At 14th level, your enhanced spells reach incredible power.

If this spell does damage:

You can use this spell an unlimited number of times, choosing the level of this spell up to the maximum available. But you must discard all known unimproved damage-causing spells.

If this spell does not deal damage:

You can use this spell an unlimited number of times, to the maximum available level. In addition, concentration cannot be interrupted as a result of taking damage. But you must discard all known unimproved spells that do not cause damage.

New knowledge

At the 18th level, you get the opportunity to study the magic of opponents and companions. If you see a creature casting spells, you can perform an Intelligence check (Arcana) by reaction to learn and memorize this spell for 24 hours, the maximum spells obtained in this way is equal to your Charisma modifier.

The difficulty of the check = the
difficulty of the saving throw from the
spell of this creature.
