Eternal armor of the devourer (5e Feat)
Eternal Armor of the Soul Devourer
Prerequisites: Level 15 or higher, proficiency with heavy armor, Constitution or Wisdom 15 or higher.
You have bonded with a cursed armor that grants immense defensive power at a terrible cost. The armor consumes the essence of other armors to enhance itself, but each offering brings you closer to losing your soul entirely.
General Benefits: - Soulbound Armor: The Eternal Armor is a cursed armor that cannot be discarded, destroyed, or removed from you. It can take the form of any armor you choose and is treated as magical for overcoming resistances and effects targeting non-magical armor. - Armor Devourer: You can feed the armor any magical armor as an action. The Eternal Armor consumes the armor and gains its properties (armor class bonuses, resistances, and special effects like damage reduction or abilities). You lose 10% of your soul for each armor devoured. - Growing Defense: For every armor devoured, the Eternal Armor grants an additional +1 to your AC (up to a maximum of +5).
Active Abilities: - Impenetrable Barrier (Action): You channel the power of all devoured armors into a protective aura. Until the start of your next turn, all damage you take is reduced by an amount equal to the total bonuses of the devoured armors + 6d10. - Reflective Retaliation (Reaction): When a creature within 30 feet damages you, the Eternal Armor retaliates. The attacker takes force damage equal to the combined bonuses of all devoured armors.
Cursed Effects: - Soul Consumption: Each time you feed an armor to the Eternal Armor, you lose 10% of your soul. When you reach 100%, your soul becomes completely consumed, and you fall under the control of the armor's will. While under its control, your character becomes an NPC, but the armor retains all its powers. - Mark of the Accursed: You gain a visible curse mark on your body, signifying your bond to the armor. Creatures hostile to you may attempt to destroy you or the armor.
Passive Benefits: - Unbreakable Bond: You cannot be forcibly removed from the Eternal Armor. If the armor is destroyed (such as by a wish spell), it reforms in your possession after a long rest. - Devour and Adapt: The Eternal Armor adapts to any resistance or immunity provided by a devoured armor, allowing you to gain that resistance or immunity. You can choose these traits during a short or long rest. - Cursed Endurance: While wearing the Eternal Armor, you gain resistance to necrotic and psychic damage and cannot be incapacitated by magical effects.
Epic Ability: - Final Fortress of Souls (Action): Once per long rest, you can channel the full power of the Eternal Armor to create an impenetrable barrier. All creatures within 30 feet must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your AC + your Constitution modifier) or be pushed back 60 feet and restrained for 1 minute. Creatures that fail also take 20d12 force damage.
After using this ability, you lose an additional 10% of your soul, regardless of how many armors have been devoured.
This feat represents a dangerous pact with a cursed armor that grants unmatched defensive power in exchange for your very essence. Only the most desperate or power-hungry would wear such a creation.
