Introduction[edit]

Some warlocks choose to pursue the more esoteric aspects of their art than the physical ones.

Game Rule Components[edit]

Lose: You lose your damage reduction progression starting at 3rd level and your fiendish resistance starting at 8th level. Your HD is also reduced by one step to d4.

Gain: You gain the Dark Knowledge class feature as described below, as well as a bonus feat at 3rd level and every four levels thereafter, choosing from the following list: Ability Focus, Apprentice, Dark Speech, Dark Whispers, Extra Invocation, Improved Familiar, Iron Will, Knowledge Devotion, Magical Aptitude, Mentor, Obtain Familiar, Skill Focus, or any item creation feat. Lastly, your skill points increase to 6 + Int modifier (×4 at 1st level) and your class skills change to Appraise, Bluff, Concentration, Craft, Decipher Script, Diplomacy, Forgery, Gather Information, Intimidate, Knowledge (any, each taken individually), Perform (Oratory), Profession, Search, Sense Motive, Speak Language, Spellcraft, and Use Magic Device.

Dark Knowledge[edit]

Long hours of study open the occultist's mind to an eclectic assortment of knowledge spanning a diverse array of topics. This ability is identical to the bardic knowledge class feature of a bard, using the warlock's effective caster level in place of the bard level. However, when dealing with topics related to the darker aspects of the occult (as determined by the DM), the warlock gains a +6 profane bonus to the check.
