Medium humanoid (human), chaotic good Armor Class 16 (19 with mage armor) (bracers of defense)
Saving Throws Dex +11, Con +12, Int +14, Wis +11 Arcane Recovery (1/Day). When he finishes a short rest, Elminster recovers all his spell slots of 5th level and lower. Elminster's Contingency. If Elminster is about to die, or if his soul is about to be trapped, he is automatically teleported to a demiplane and the spell heal is cast on him. Once used, Elminster needs 10 days to prepare this spell before using it again. Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Elminster fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead. Magic Resistance. Elminster has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. Special Equipment. Elminster has a mantle of spell resistance, bracers of defense, eversmoking pipe and a +3 thundering longsword. Spellcasting. Elminster is a 20th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 22, +14 to hit with spell attacks). He has the following wizard spells prepared: Cantrips (at will): mage hand, prestidigitation, fire bolt, light, minor illusion Weavemastery. Due to his attunement to the Weave, Elminster can use his action to cast any spell he knows without using material, somatic and verbal components. He gains 1 level of exhaustion immediately after using this ability. ACTIONSMultiattack. Elminster casts a spell. He then makes two attacks with his thundering longsword. +3 Thundering Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage or 9 (1d10 + 4) slashing damage if used with two hands, plus 14 (4d6) thunder damage. Silver Fire (3/Day). Elminster can surround himself with silver fire. It lasts for 1 minute. While silver fire is active, Elminster gains resistance to cold and fire damage, immunity to spells that would affect his mind, can breathe underwater and, as an action, he can unleash a silver fire bolt line that is 5 feet wide and 60 feet long. Each creature in that line must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking 45 (10d8) radiant damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one.
LEGENDARY ACTIONSElminster can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Elminster Aumar, the legendary sage of Shadowdale. The strongest of Mystra's Chosen, he rarely moves directly against his foes, preferring to work through younger and more vigorous heroes. The Sage of Shadowdale for years confounded the Zhentarim, the Red Wizards of Thay, and a hundred rival mages while at the same time training and rearing a long succession of apprentices who all became superb spellcasters in their own right. Before that, he foiled renegade Chosen, helped found the Harpers, and raised several of the Seven Sisters. During the Time of Troubles, he saved Toril by holding Mystra's power inside himself, surviving by his wits and the aid of the ranger Shatantyr rather than by his magic. He's also a decent melee fighter and a superb dancer. Elminster is a consummate actor and delights in acts of whimsy, helping the needy and lovelorn, and dispensing poetic justice to those who deserve it. He has a heart of gold, a deep need to bring tyrannical, pompous, and cruel persons low, and a crotchety, "Don't push me" manner. After knowing the love of the goddess Mystra, nothing awes him or leaves him much afraid. |
