Eldritch Student (3.5e Alternate Class Feature)

Eldritch students are binders who study the eldritch nature of their vestiges.

Class: Binder

Level: 2

Replaces: Bonus Feats and Pact Augmentation. They also have a poor BAB and Fortitude saving throw, progressing them at the same rate as a wizard, while their HD drops one step to d6 per level.

Benefits: Eldritch Lore and Eldritch Power. Eldritch students also substitute Intelligence for Charisma when making pacts or determining the effects of their granted abilities.

Eldritch Lore (Ex): You are knowledgeable in a breadth of legends, myths, and other lore gleaned from the fragmented memories of your vestiges, just as a bard is courtesy of their bardic knowledge class feature. You add your effective binder level + your Intelligence modifier to any Knowledge checks you make, and you must have a good pact with at least one vestige in order to benefit from this ability. This otherwise functions exactly like a bardic knowledge check.

Eldritch Power (Su): For each vestige that you have a good pact with, you gain one least warlock invocation that is not a blast invocation or essence invocation. You may use it at will for as long as you remain bound to the vestige with which you chose that invocation, using your effective binder level as your warlock level where applicable. Once your EBL reaches 10th, you can choose from the least or lesser invocation lists, and you can include greater invocations once your EBL reaches 18th.

Any abilities or features that would deny you access to a vestige's special abilities also denies you access to the warlock invocation you chose when binding that vestige.

These invocations cannot be used to meet the prerequisites for feats or prestige classes, nor can they be used to activate spell trigger or spell completion magic items.
