Skills History +6, Nature +4, Stealth +5 Ambusher. The drop bear has advantage on attack rolls against any creature it has surprised. Frothing Strength. The drop bear doesn't have disadvantage on attack rolls with heavy weapons. Manic Wisdom. The drop bear and all creatures of its choice within 30 feet of it have advantage on Wisdom saving throws. Spellcasting. The drop bear is a 5th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 13, +5 to hit with spell attacks), and it has the following bard spells prepared: Cantrips (at will): light, mage hand, vicious mockery ACTIONSMultiattack. The drop bear makes two attacks, one with its light hammer and one with its scimitar. Light Hammer. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) bludgeoning damage. Scimitar. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage. Mindrend (Recharge 5-6). The drop bear unleashes a mental assault on a creature that it can see within 30 feet of it. That creature must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or take 14 (4d6) psychic damage and be stunned for 1 minute. While stunned in this way, the creature has disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws and can't speak or understand language. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. If the save is successful or the effect ends for a creature, it is immune to the drop bear's mindrend for 24 hours. REACTIONSSky Drop. When the drop bear falls and lands within 5 feet of a hostile creature, it makes a melee weapon attack against that creature. If the attack hits, the drop bear takes no falling damage and the attack deals extra damage equal to the falling damage that would have been taken. |
To keep up with their manic and energetic biology, the drop bear language is spoken as fast as it can come out of your mouth and, if written down using the common alphabet, would take up absurd amounts of space. To compensate, the drop bear alphabet is compact and densely written, requiring many years of training to interpret and transcribe. In their effort to master these glyphs and their contact with literature and history, the drop bears developed a class of archivist librarians, who can read and write important literature, speak multiple languages, and use powerful bardic magic. |
