Dreki[edit]

So they aren't dragonborn. They're much more haughty about it... Dragonborn can't be said to act as smug.

Physical Description[edit]

A dreki (plural: drekyn) is the direct result of a Dragon and Humanoid type creature's blood mixing. Often, they are a few more generations down from that offspring, too. This usually happens when a dragon mates with a human when shape-shifted, sometimes done for love, lust or other reasons. However, regardless of the reason, these offspring are often very human-like. All of them have scales around their body. Also some have claws, wings, or horns. They boast strong and muscular physiques. They have dragon shaped eyes. The face and body itself are usually that of a human accented with various draconic features. They are not as common as dragonborns or other draconic creatures.

History[edit]

Dragons and humans live in a world together. Many humans may come across dragons during their adventures, often during their adventures or exploits they've taken out of curiosity. They would meet someone who would catch their eye and then their heart. The alignment and circumstances of the dragon parent would shape how that relationship was and whether they would take the child themselves, have the human keep it or if it was simply abandoned by both. Drekyn are usually offspring of metallic dragon bloodlines as opposed to chromatic, due to how chromatic are loathe to see humans as anything but food or a bug to be squashed.

Society[edit]

Drekyn don't have a society together but they can sometimes join other races societies or they do what half-elves do.

Female dragons may or may not stay with the father. However, when it is time to lay eggs, she leaves to a secluded spot that fits her nature for a time. A female dragon lays egg different from the rest of the clutch, however, sometimes twin eggs are born. The baby dreki then grows in the egg until the age of 2 and then hatches. During this growing time, the mother speaks to and teaches the child telepathically. They are born knowing how to walk and speak and usually have much larger wings, scales, or horns than those born from human mothers. Some then return with the child to where they lived, while others will stay where were born, or move on. The child usually stays with the mother until young adulthood. All drekyn born from a humanoid mother retain genetic memories from the father (Life lessons, certain memories, etc).

Dreki Names[edit]

Drekyn names take from human, dragonborn and dragons. They often prefer and take pride in their Draconic tongue and will look down on those who do not know it.

Draconic Ancestry. Your draconic ancestry has given you great natural power:

- Claws: You have retractable claws. While your claws are extended, your unarmed strikes deal 1d6 + your Strength modifier slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage usually used for unarmed strikes. You may extend or retract your claws at will, no action is required.

- Horns: You grow draconic horns on your head. As an action, you can use the horns to charge at a creature. Make a melee attack roll, adding your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier to hit. On a hit, the creature takes 1d6 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier bludgeoning damage, and must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus) or be pushed up to 10 feet away from you.

- Wings: You have wings from your back, giving you a flying speed equal to your walking speed. As a bonus action, you can make the wings retract so you can wear clothes and armor normally, or extend them so you can fly. You cannot fly while your wings are retracted.
