Skills Perception +4, Stealth +6 Echolocation. The bat can't use its blindsight while deafened. Keen Hearing. The bat has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing. ACTIONSMultiattack. The bat makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its claws. Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage. Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) slashing damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 13). Until this grapple ends, the bat can't use its claws on another target.

Dread bats are terrifying predators, as they are strong enough to carry a man in their hind claws. They often swoop down on unsuspecting prey and carry it off, biting it on the wing. |
