Draconic Chimera[edit]

"Draconic chimeras... nasty buggers I tell you. Nasty. Sure, they can’t breathe fire and fly like normal dragons, but what they lack in breath attacks and flight, they more than make up for in sheer strength and powerful magic." The expedition leader, Barksworth explained to the pair of adventurers who were looking to kill the draconic chimera that hid within the dungeon. "Will we be able to defeat it though?" The half-foot cleric asked with concern. "I’m worried if my magic will hold." "Oh, stop worrying so much, Newt! You’ll be fine." The tall-foot fighter complained. With that, they descended further into the dungeon's depths to take on the chimera at its depths.

Physical Description[edit]

Insert source

Draconic chimeras are large, draconic creatures. They look akin to a griffin, with the exception of draconic features where the feline features should be. The wings are feathery, and feathers spread across most of the upper torso area, as well as the shoulders. Where the neck would’ve been on a normal dragon, has now been replaced with the torso of the human that the dragon was merged with. The human part looks mostly identical to their original forms, with the sole exception that their entire torso, and their arms. Their eyes are also identical to that of their draconic counterparts. Some will sprout small horns identical to their draconic counterpart, but it is very rare.

History[edit]

Draconic chimeras used to be people just like you and me, but because of their soul being merged with the soul of a dragon, they become these bird-like half-dragon, half-human creatures. Oftentimes, it happens especially because of a curse being placed on the dragon’s soul by a powerful wizard. While it is possible to restore the conscience of the person who was merged with the dragon, it does require overwriting the command of the original wizard. Such procedure is not needed if the dragon’s soul was not cursed.

Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]

While many draconic chimeras do not have attitudes and beliefs unique to them and their race, some may share the beliefs with the wizard who cursed them if that is the case. Otherwise, they share attitudes and beliefs with the race they were originally.

Draconic Chimera Names[edit]

Draconic Chimeras tend to take on the names of when they were human, but they mostly change it slightly, or combine it with elements of their draconic counterparts. Many draconic chimeras usually replace the first part of their name with ‘’Far’’ but it isn’t every time they include it.
