These wyvern-like beasts inhabit nearly every terrain in the world, though they prefer deep, secluded nesting spots in caves or jungles.
A typical Dracàvès is about 3 feet long with a 3 foot tail and has a wingspan of about 7 feet. Their wings are feathered, but their bodies are scaly. They come in a wide range of colors depending on environment, but are most often a dull brown, mottled with patches of dark green, and have a light tan underbelly. Their wings have patterns unique to the individual and are most often are brown with white or tan on the underside. The rare rainbow winged Dracàvès and their tendency toward good, lends some to believe they are Couatl descendants, but no other evidence has come to light to ground these claims. Dracàvès are curious and fairly intelligent creatures and love to watch humanoids from afar.
Spells[edit]
Dracàvès have some of the innate magical ability of their draconic heritage gaining two zero level spells at will with a caster level equal to their character level or hit dice, whichever is higher. More feral Dracàvès tend to cast Create Water and Ray of Frost(though the energy type varies by terrain generally akin to true dragons of that region, acid in swamps, electricity by the sea or in the desert etc.).
COMBAT[edit]
Dracàvès hunt in flocks, diving at prey, latching on with their powerful talons, biting a large vein and holding on until the creature bleeds to death.
Attach (Ex): To use this ability a Dracàvès must hit with a talon or bite attack on a creature at least one size larger than itself. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. A Dracàvès uses Dex in place of Str. They may choose to void their size penalty, however, if they do so, the target is no longer considered grappled even though the Dracàvès would still be attached. Regardless, the Dracàvès does all of its natural weapons' damage each round it remains attached.
Skills: Dracàvèsi have a +4 racial bonus on Survival and Hide checks.
