Doppelkinder (3.5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Doppelkinders[edit]
Personality[edit]
Doppelkinder are the descendants of Doppelgangers with resurgent genes within the human race. They share many of the traits of Doppelgangers, but little of their innate power.
Physical Description[edit]
Doppelkinder are creatures that look like humans, but they have a dullness, a plainness to them that is seldom matched by ordinary humans. It's rare someone who has a casual encounter with a Doppelkinder is able to recall anything specific about their appearance. Just another ghost in the crowd.
Relations[edit]
Doppelkinders blend into wherever they place themselves, assuming that they assume the form of the locals.
Alignment[edit]
There are lawful Doppelkinder, but they tend towards chaos. Doing what serves the moment.
Lands[edit]
Doppelkinder live everywhere that people do, from remote villages to urban cities.
Religion[edit]
While Doppelkinder have no deities of their own, they can worship any deity depending in personal situation.
Language[edit]
Doppelkinder speak common and any languages they may have learned. There is no special Doppelkinder language.
Names[edit]
A Doppelkinder name depends on the culture he was born in, but those who embrace their shapeshifting ability tend to treat names like clothing, never bonding to any one in particular.

A Doppelkinder can assume the shape of any Small or Medium humanoid. In humanoid form, the Doppelkinder loses its natural attacks. A Doppelkinder can remain in its humanoid form until it chooses to assume a new one. A change in form cannot be dispelled, but a Doppelkinder reverts to its natural form when killed. A true seeing spell or ability reveals its natural form.
