Dice of Possibilities[edit]

Said to be carved from the bones of the most reckless gambler who ever died, sets of these dice occasionally make an appearance in the forgotten shrines of deities whose dominion is luck and fate. Those who toss one or a pair of these magic artifacts have an even chance of losing a part of their common sense and reasoning or gaining an innate luckiness. The dice of possibilities appear as normal six sided dice carved from bleached bone with red and green pips. Tossing any number of die is a standard action that provokes an attack of opportunity. An accidental toss would not generate any effect. Either one or a pair can be thrown, allowing a range of one through twelve. The following is each result with its outcome:

1 : The thrower may reroll one of any of his future skill checks, attack rolls or saves. The reroll is a swift action whose result must be taken even if it is lower than the original. He cannot employ the magic of any of the dice until the reroll is used.

2 : The thrower receives 1 point of ability damage to his Wisdom score. This effect cannot be prevented or healed by magical means.

3 : The thrower may reroll two of any of his future skill checks, attack rolls or saves. The reroll is a swift action whose result must be taken even if it is lower than the original. He cannot employ the magic of any of the dice until the rerolls are used.

4 : The thrower receives 2 points of ability damage to his Wisdom score. This effect cannot be prevented or healed by magical means.

5 : The thrower may reroll three of any of his future skill checks, attack rolls or saves. The reroll is a swift action whose result must be taken even if it is lower than the original. He cannot employ the magic of any of the dice until the rerolls are used.

6 : The thrower receives 3 points of ability damage to his Wisdom score. This effect cannot be prevented or healed by magical means.

7 : The thrower may reroll four of any of his future skill checks, attack rolls or saves. The reroll is a swift action whose result must be taken even if it is lower than the original. He cannot employ the magic of any of the dice until the rerolls are used.
