Demyling (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Demyling[edit]
"Yeap, I am Half Halfling, but don't call me a Quarterling!!!"
Physical Description[edit]
Demyling Bard "Alexander Gladfid" |
Demylings are completely proportioned despite being smaller to a human, but with slightly pointed ears and strange eyes.
History[edit]
Much of the time Humans and Halflings can't breed with one another, but in extremely rare cases...well.....you get Demylings. They weren't always referred to as such but were called demi-humans but as some skirmishes arose as a result of the name it was settled that they would be called Demylings.
Society[edit]
No real society has formed, so the Demylings usually take the customs and beliefs of their parents. However, Demylings are always born as twins of the opposite gender to one another, suspiciously. So, the naming of them would be of one being given a name and the other would be given the variant of the name appropriate to their gender. For example, the female would be named Abree and her twin brother Abraham.
Demylings Names[edit]
Demylings are always born with an oppositely gendered twin, so they usually receive names with a male or female variant for their twin.
Female: Abree, Alessandra, Benita, Derrica, Keva, Nichole
Male: Abraham, Alexander, Benedict, Derick, Kevin, Nicholas

Suggested Characteristics[edit]
When creating a Demyling character, you can use the following traits, ideals, bonds and flaws to help flesh out your character. In addition to or in place of your background's characteristics.
Personality Traits: Demylings tend to be very satisfied with their way of life and don't wish to stray from it but will eventually be content with it if they are. They grow wiser at a young age as a result of this. Greed and jealousy usually don't affect their decisions unless in a friendly competition.
Ideals: I am as happy as my halfling cousins and as dedicated to my goals as my human side.
Bonds: A Demyling usually forms the closest bond with their twin sibling. They gain the most wisdom when experiences that affect them both.
Flaws: Trying to get a Demyling to stray from the life they got used to, it will feel like trying to move a boulder up a hill. Strenuous until you get past the tip in which point they start to go with on there own. If a Demyling's twin dies, the other one can scene it, however, when they do the Demyling will never truly be satisfied with life and always have a bit of sadness in their personality from that point on.
