ACTIONS

Multiattack. The demonic rex makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tail.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 35 (5d10 + 8) piercing damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 18). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the demonic rex can't bite another target.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 25 (5d6 + 8) bludgeoning damage.

Blood Spit. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 40 ft., one target. Hit: 31 (7d8) acid damage. A creature grappled by the demonic rex is automatically hit by this attack.

The demonic rex is a monstrous, reptilian demon similar in size and posture to a tyrannosaurus rex. Demonic rexes are aggressive, greedy and slow-witted, their tactics limited to charging headlong at whatever has angered them most recently. Greater demons guide demonic rexes to attack their enemies with promises of treasure and violence and sometimes ride a demonic rex into battle.
A demonic rex can spit its acidic blood at its enemies, then it devours their bodies. The acid melts the demon's prey but leaves their valuables intact and even serves as a kind of polish.
