Demonic Little Grey Cat (5e Subclass)
Demonic Little Grey Cat[edit]
Warlock Subclass
Out of all the patrons you could draw your power from, you choose... a cat? Was it worth it? More importantly, how did you convince your DM to let you make this pact? This joke subclass is based on the Demonic Little Grey Cat joke boss. Despite that, this is intended for use in a regular game (although playtesting is necessary).
Expanded Spell List[edit]
The cat lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Spell Level | Spells |
---|---|
1st | command |
2nd | enhance ability |
3rd | catnap |
4th | death ward |
5th | skill empowerment |
Constant Communication[edit]
Starting at 1st level, you can cast sending up to your proficiency bonus. When casted in this way, it cannot fail but it can only contact the cat. You regain spent uses after a long rest.
Mass Telepathy[edit]
Starting at 6th level, the cat teaches you how to copy its Mass Telepathy, allowing you to set telepathic channels between several people at once. Your conversations can include a number of willing or unwilling targets up to your proficiency bonus. You may choose to let your targets reply to each other or hear replies made for you at will (no action required). You're range for this ability is 20 + your warlock level + your character level in feet. If you have telepathy from other sources, its range is increased by 30ft from your current position.
Harness Demonic Power (Optional)[edit]
At the DM's discretion, you might be forced to surrender Mass Telepathy if the DM rules it unhealthy for his/her campaign. If this happens, you replace Mass Telepathy for an extra spell slot of your current spell slot level. This spell slot works exactly as a regular spell slot, recharging on a short rest or when you use Eldritch Master.
Aspect of the Cat[edit]
Starting at 10th Level, you can use your action to summon an Aspect of the Demonic Cat. The aspect shares the cat stat block except it has hit/health dice (d4) equal to your warlock level and has darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. In addition, it can innately cast eldritch blast five times with a spellcaster level equal to yours, sharing your spell attack modifier. The cat follows your verbal or telepathic orders (no action required) and takes its turn immediately after yours. The cat disappears when it drops to zero hit points or after four hours. You only get one use of this ability, which recharges after a long rest.
One With the Cat[edit]
Starting at 14th level, you can use a bonus action to wild shape into a little grey cat, or back into your normal form at will. You retain spellcasting (no material components required as a cat), senses, hp, and hit dice after transforming. Additionally, you gain resistance to force and necrotic damage.
