Introduction[edit]

A Creature Born of Evolution of Another, after the reaping of ten thousand souls can one ascend. (Inspired from the Demon Lords from "That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime", and yes, I know that in the anime Demon lords are Races, but I figured there was too much going on to limit them just to a race, so I made a class)

Class Features[edit]

Lordly Symbol[edit]

While Creating your Demon Lord, or when Multiclassing into A Demon Lord, you gain a symbol, this can range from a banner, an inscription on your sword, a crystal in your armor, or similar. This symbol is your focus for casting Demon Lord Spells and using your Lords Ambition (unlocked Later)

Demonic Ascendancy[edit]

Marking Your Ascent, you have attained a new power

Starting at 1st Level, whenever you roll initiative, you may add your charisma modifier to the roll in addition to your dexterity modifier and any other bonuses you might have. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short rest

Lords Ambition[edit]

Starting at 2nd level, as a bonus action, you can exert your Ambition: Designate an enemy within 10 feet of you that can see you, that enemy makes a wisdom saving throw (Dc is equal to your spell save modifier), On a failure, the target becomes frightened of you for the next minute. The frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all uses of your Lords Ambition when you finish a Long Rest. At higher Levels, the immense force of your aura will start inflicting damage as shown in the Lords Ambition Column of the Demon Lord Table.

Spellcasting[edit]

Starting at 2nd Level, You draw your magic straight from the Air, and the magic in it, limiting your Magic until you have had a rest.

  • Cantrips. At 2nd level you know two cantrips of your choice from the Warlock spell list. You learn additional Warlock cantrips of your choice at higher levels as shown in the Cantrips Known column on the Demon Lord table above.
  • Spell Slots. The Demon Lord table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your Demon Lord spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these Demon Lord spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
  • Learning Spells of 1st level and Higher. Each time you gain a Demon Lord level you can learn additional spells of your choice from the Warlock spell list, as shown on the Spells Known column of the Demon Lord table above. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots, as shown on the Demon Lord level. Also, at every level, you can choose one spell you know and exchange it for a different spell that you can learn.
  • Spellcasting Ability. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your Demon Lord spells, as your hours of dedication to martial magic has allowed you to learn the movements in using your spells. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a Demon Lord spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
  • Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
  • Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier

Lordly Archetype[edit]

At 3rd Level, Select an Archetype, Select either Gelatinous, Draconic, Or Devilish.
