Pack Tactics. The deinonychus has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the deinonychus's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.

Pounce. If the deinonychus moves at least 30 feet straight toward a creature and hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, the target must succeed a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the deinonychus can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The deinonychus makes two claw attacks.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Deinonychus is perhaps the most intelligent of natural dromeosaurs, being able to interpret humanoid behaviors in order to distinguish weak links in groups and figure out the perfect time to strike. The deinonychus also is intelligent enough to set traps by injuring and leaving a prey animal alone and relying on empathy to drive others to help the injured prey, and then they kill both the bait and the unlucky victims of their trickery.
