The World of Crimson Eclipse[edit]

What we know of the world is little. Savagery is only recently changed to order in "civilized" races, and many races are untouched by this change. For all we know for certain is there is a world as we walk it, and there are powers at work not from this world. There is one continent, while others are unknown or spoken of in legend. Most of the world is a grassland, Plains of Prosperity as they're known, which hold home to many newfound civilations along with savage tribes of man and beast alike. To the south is a frozen mountain range, simply known as the White Wall. Beasts that can survive here do roam the tundra, while a multitude of races have taken to the underground, including from Dwarf Strongholds to demons who stalk caves. The east is a forest who receives as much snow as the tundra without the chill to sustain it. This rainforest is known as the Wetland, as flodding is a common problem. Sanctuaries of Elfish and Eladrin villadges are scattered through the tree tops, while beast and prey find many a home here. The north is a mountainous range, behind which is ruins of some alien empire, the likes which are unknown today, the origin of the namesake Barren Tombs. Adventureous tribes of Dragonborn, Tiefling, and Halfings are not unheardof, but rare none the less. No living thing calls this place home, save for some demons and abominations, constructs are said to be found roaming. A thing most explorers think is true is that the Barren Tombs are filled with secret doors that lead to different worlds. The west is a worse of a world. The most popular idea is the one of some godly war, resulting in the marring of the world. The west is a desert of sulfur, poisonous to all forms of life. A ring of volcanoes is beyond the sulfur wastes, said to be home to an evil tied to the wastes. A common legend says that the ground spilt open upon the marring of thw world, unleashes undead, demons, and metal constructs to roam the waste. In the Sulfric Wastes, there are pollution free oasises that can be found scattered yet isolated. Underground tunnels are also sayed to exists, linking a possible kingdom.

The Races of Crimson Eclipse[edit]

The world holds many different faces. The Tundra South holds large dwarf populations, along with Human and Tiefling kingships. The Wetlands hold many Elves and Halflings, Dragonborn are renown for living in colonies on the edge of rivers. The Barren Tombs of the North are colonized by Human, Dragonborn, Tiefling, and Halfling tribes. The Sulfiric Wastes hold many walks of life, from scattered Human, Dwarven, and Eladrin colonies to Dragonborn and Tiefling kingships off of the Valcanoes where the ground is fertile.

Additional Races a Dm May Consider;

Warforged: Metal men, constructs with conscience. These steel souls are immune to the sulfric poison, and thus build empires where no trouble can reach them.

Azer: Dwarves of fire, Molten men of elemntal descent. These brass men can survive in valcanoes and are naturally resistant to the cold.

Graveborn: Undead men, zombies of the common races. These sentinent corpses are immune to the sulfric acid and with no need to eat commonly can roam both the Sulfric Wastes and Barren Tombs for months.

DM's Inspiration Box[edit]

If you want a game of political intrigue and war, the borders of "peaceful" lands like the grasslands and the wetlands sound like a good place to start. In a time of uneasy formation, newfound competion, and savage heritage, how do politics run? If your looking for get-in-zee-chopper style of play, the tundra south sounds like a place to start. Dungeons and abandoned mines lead in to natural caves as beasts and demons alike roam the underground, are you ever really safe? If you look forward to a good scare, the western wastes sounds like the place to be. Poison clouds sorround you as you see limping shadows followed by artificial looking movement, with no place to go, who knows what can happen? If your emphasis is story telling, the abandoned north is for you. Who, or what, built the ruins and why? Why do demons still linger and doors remain open? What cpuld happen in this mysterious wasteland. Maybe you want to explore the legends of other islands, or maybe you want to make a map of the cosmos. The world is open and ready for your taking when tensions rise and blood flows in Crimson Eclipse!
