This spell must be cast on a person who thinks (rightly or wrongly) that his death is imminent. It creates a "final meal" (i.e. the individual's favorite foods, cooked exquisitely), and gives the target adequate strength and appetite to eat it. It is not nourishing and does not in any sense prolong the target's life.
