Corrupt Priest[edit]

Class Description[edit]

The Corrupt Priest wields the dark blessings of the Mother of Corruption, drawing on forbidden powers. This class defies the typical holy archetype, tapping into ancient and corrupt energies.

Creating a Corrupt Priest[edit]

To create a Corrupt Priest, consider how your character encountered the Mother of Corruption. What drives their pursuit of power?

Quick Build

Make Wisdom your highest ability score, followed by Constitution. Choose the Hermit background.

Class Features

As a Corrupt Priest you gain the following class features.

Hit Points

Hit Dice: 1d8 per Corrupt Priest level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 8 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Corrupt Priest level after 1st

Proficiencies

Armor: Light and medium armor
Weapons: Simple weapons, and one martial weapon of your choice
Tools: None
Saving Throws: Wisdom, Charisma
Skills: Choose two from Arcana, Deception, Religion, Intimidation

Equipment

You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • (a) A mace or (b) A martial weapon
  • (a) Scale mail or (b) Leather armor
  • (a) A light crossbow and 20 bolts or (b) Any simple weapon
  • (a) A priest's pack or (b) An explorer's pack or (c) A holy symbol
  • If you are using starting wealth, you have 5d4 x 10 gp in funds.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score by 2, or two ability scores by 1.

The Mother's Hand[edit]

At 1st level, you gain a mysterious severed hand, a relic of your deity, aiding in casting spells and performing tasks.

Divinity Points Accumulation[edit]

Starting at 1st level, perform dark rituals to accumulate divinity points, used to activate Authority abilities.

First Authority[edit]

At 3rd level, gain your first Authority ability.

Authority or Empowerment[edit]

At 7th, 11th, and 15th levels, choose to gain a new Authority or enhance an existing one. Each Authority can only be enhanced once.

Manifestation of the Mother[edit]

At 20th level, your deep connection with the Mother of Corruption allows you to manifest her true form once per long rest. This powerful presence can unleash a devastating attack, empower allies, or weaken enemies, showcasing the pinnacle of your devotion and power.

You know all spells on the basic Corrupt Priest spell list and additional spells based on your subclass.

Multiclassing[edit]

Prerequisites. To multiclass into the Corrupt Priest class, meet a prerequisite of Wisdom 13.

Proficiencies. Gain proficiencies in light armor, medium armor, and simple weapons.
