Innate Spellcasting. The magen's innate spellcasting ability is Constitution. It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no spell components:

3/day each: absorb elements, alarm, shield
1/day each: arcane lock, gate seal

Ancient Mastery. The magen's weapon attacks are magical. When the magen deals force damage to a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or its movement speed is halved and it can’t take reactions until the end of its next turn. If a creature fails three of these saving throws in a single turn, it is stunned until the end of its next turn.

Arcane Sentinel. Creatures provoke opportunity attacks from the magen even if they take the disengage action before leaving its reach. The magen can make opportunity attacks without expending its reaction, but can only make one opportunity attack each turn.

Explosive End. If the magen dies, its body destabilizes into a destructive magical blast. Each creature within a 30-foot radius of the magen must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw. A target takes 33 (6d10) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The magen leaves behind anything it was wearing or carrying.

Magic Resistance. The magen has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Unusual Nature. The magen doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The magen makes six mana flechette or three mana glaive attacks.

Mana Flechette. Ranged Spell Attack: +8 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) force damage.

Mana Glaive. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (2d10 + 7) force damage.

BONUS ACTIONS

Shafted. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d4 + 7) bludgeoning plus 5 (1d10) force damage. If the target is a Medium or smaller creature or object, it is knocked back up to 30 feet away from the magen.

REACTIONS

Mana Guard. When the magen is targeted with a spell attack, it gains a +5 bonus to its ac and 15 (2d10 + 4) temporary hit points until the end of the turn. If the attack scores a critical hit, reduce the damage it deals by 5 (1d10).

A special type of magen that requires at least thirteen mages all casting the create magen spell in sync around special spell circle containing enough reagents to create a dozen normal magen, plus a giant mannequin, for several hours. As such, the resulting constructs are extremely rare and, due to their size, usually only used to guard the most valuable of items. Other than that size, colossi magen behave similar to demos magen, ceaselessly carrying out the orders of their creators long after their death. When created, the colossi magen will only consider the first caster involved in its creation to give it a command its true master. That’s why most will instead opt for creating golems.
