College of the Vain[edit]

Bard Subclass

Bards of the College of the Vain have one singular focus, being the greatest bards in the world not by spreading tales of others but of their own deeds. The loyalty of these bards lies in the pursuit of personal power and prestige, not in fealty to a monarch or following the tenets of a deity. A bard of this college is not necessarily evil; they just have a strong amount of self-worth.

Life of Vain

When you join the College of the Vain at 3rd Level, all effects last twice as long this includes spells and abilities.

Self Inspiration

Also at 3rd Level, you can use one bardic inspiration to give yourself one Bardic Inspiration die. This can also be used as a reaction to increase your AC for until the beginning of your next turn.

Additional Magical Self Secrets

At 6th level, you learn three Spells of your choice from any class as long as the target is self. A spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the Bard table, or a cantrip. The chosen Spells count as Bard Spells for you but don’t count against the number of Bard Spells you know.

Skill of the Selfish

Starting at 14th level, when you make an ability check, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration. Roll two Bardic Inspiration dice and add the number rolled to your ability check. You can choose to do so after you roll the die for the ability check, but before the GM tells you whether you succeed or fail.
