College of the Raccoon Spirit[edit]

Bard Subclass

Bards of the Raccoon Spirit hone their skills by imitating tanuki, playful, trickster raccoon-dog spirits who are hospitable to strangers. As a comrade of the tanuki, you like to have fun and commonly engage in pranks, but are able and willing to protect others at a moment's notice.

Tanuki are seen in Kozakura more as playful then as harmful, and are largely trusted in matters of much importance. Outsiders, however, will often view them as malicious spirits and will stay away from them.

Expert Prankster

When you join the College of the Raccoon Spirit at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Deception. If you are already proficient, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks made with that skill.

Clean Getaway

Starting at 3rd level, you are adept at getting away with your shenanigans. You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed, and whenever you cast a leveled spell you ignore difficult terrain for the rest of your turn.

Aura of Protection

At 6th level, your luck begins rubbing off on nearby creatures. Whenever you or a friendly creature within 10 feet of you must make a saving throw, the creature gains a bonus to the saving throw equal to your Charisma modifier (with a minimum bonus of +1). You must be conscious to grant this bonus.

Tanuki Magic

At 14th level, you have learned to mimic the powers of the tanuki. You can cast the spells distort value, silent image, and alter self at will, without providing material components. When you cast any of these spells with this feature, no creature may benefit from your Aura of Protection until the start of your next turn.
