College of Sound Strikers[edit]

Bards from the College of Sound Strikers use sound and music in a more violent way than the other bards, they bend the sound they create into particular Shapes to cast powerful attack, may it be for good and protection or evil and destruction.

Bonus Proficiencies

Sound Strikers specialize in one particular instrument in order to be more efficient with their attacks, upon choosing this college at 3rd level, the bard must choose a type of Musical Instrument and can only use the features of this subclass with that particular instrument. If you can't use your instrument for any reason, you can't use any of this subclass features. You also gain Expertise with that instrument and you gain one skill proficiency.

Sound Shapes

Starting at 3rd level you gain multiple ways to use the sound of your instrument, changing your attack shape. For any of these actions below, you must expend one bardic inspiration. The result of your bardic inspiration dice is the number of d8 you will have to roll for damage. For example if the result of my bardic inspiration roll is 4, damage will be 4d8. Damage are thunder damage. The shapes that you can use are as follows :

  • 1st Shape : Sound Shot : You shoot a precise sound attack on a target within 90 feet. You make a ranged spell attack and deal your damage on hit, you add your Charisma modifier to damage.
  • 2nd Shape : Sonic Spear : You send a powerful strike on a 30 foot line, each creature on the way of your spear must make a dexterity saving throw and take half damage on success.
  • 3rd Shape : Thundering Chords : You rock to much for every creature in a 15 foot cone in front of you, they must make a constitution saving throw and take half damage on success.
  • 4th Shape : Celestial Strike: You play multiple sounds that accumulate in the sky within 60 feet and then fall on a 10 foot radius area of effect, every creature inside must make a wisdom saving throw and take half damage on success.

Amplified Shapes

Starting at 6th level, you can add effects on your shapes. You can never choose to add an effect if the creature succeeded the saving throw or if you missed with Sound Shot

  • 1st Shape : Sound Shot : On hit, you can decided to make your shot bounce on another creature within 30 feet, you make an another ranged spell attack with disadvantage to hit the creature. On hit, the creature takes half the damage of the first strike.
  • 2nd Shape : Sonic Spear : On the first creature that misses the saving throw( and only the first one), you can choose to stop the spear and deal x1,5 on the damage on that creature.
  • 3rd Shape : Thundering Chords : You can choose to half the dealt damage to make fall on the ground (Prone) the creatures in your cone.
  • 4th Shape : Celestial Strike: You can choose to nullify the dealt damage and stun until your next round the creatures within the area of effect

Master of Sound Shaping

Starting at 14th level, you are more efficient than ever when you use your shapes. No creature are immune to your thunder damage ( they still resist it ) and the first time you use a shape against a creature, it has a disadvantage to saving throws ( or you have an advantage with Sound Shot). Also, the dice damage for your shapes become d10 and you can spend another a bardic inspiration to re-roll the number of damage dice ( only once per round ).
