College of Prophecy (5e Subclass)
College of Prophecy[edit]
Bard Subclass
Bards of the College of Prophecy combine their vast knowledge of the past with a clear vision of the future. They use ancient stories and mystical wisdom to predict the course of events and manipulate destiny, aiding their allies and confusing their enemies.
Wisdom of the Seers[edit]
When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Perception skill if you don’t already have it. If you already have proficiency in Perception, you gain Expertise, allowing you to add double your proficiency bonus to Perception checks. Additionally, you can use your Bardic Inspiration to foresee the near future. When an ally within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll or saving throw, you can use your reaction to roll a Bardic Inspiration die and add the result to the roll.
Minor Foretelling[edit]
Also at 3rd level, glimpses of the future begin to press in on your awareness. At the end of each long rest, roll two d20s and record the results. You can use one of these results to replace any attack roll, ability check, or saving throw made by a creature you can see. You must choose to use the foretelling die before the roll is made. You can use only one of these dice before your next long rest.
Foreboding Prediction[edit]
Starting at 6th level, you can use your knowledge of the future to sow doubt and confusion among your enemies. When a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see makes an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, you can use your reaction to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration. Subtract the result of the Bardic Inspiration die from the creature’s roll.
Greater Foretelling[edit]
At 14th level, your ability to foresee the future reaches its peak. At the end of each long rest, roll four d20s and record the results. You can use one of these results to replace any attack roll, ability check, or saving throw made by a creature you can see. You must choose to use the foretelling die before the roll is made. You can use only one die to replace a roll before your next long rest.
