<Bard> Subclass

College of Lambasting

Here at the College of Lambasting you will learn how to correctly apply your wit, jealousy, and never ending criticisms in an offensive capacity, wearing down your enemies faster than you thought possible! Just like a rock in a shoe or a nagging mother or in-law, you will drive people to dread and despair with seemingly effortless ease with your endless incessant criticisms.

Acerbic Wit

3rd level

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!" Is only something idiots, fools, and children believe. When it's your words the mental scars will be more damaging than anything else they have experienced, always nagging in the back of their minds. Destroying their confidence and sapping their will. You have perfected the art of getting under people's skin. People are barely able to tolerate your words, much less your existence.

You know the cantrip vicious mockery and can cast it either as a bonus action or as a reaction to target making a saving throw within range. This doesn't apply to the number of cantrips known. If you already have this cantrip you may pick another cantrip of your choice but still gain the benefit of casting vicious mockery as a bonus action or reaction. In addition, instead of a d4, your die when using vicious mockery is equal to your Bardic Inspiration Die and you may add your charisma modifier to damage.

Cutting Words

Also at 3rd level

"I’m not insulting you, I’m describing you." You learn how to use your wit to distract, confuse, and otherwise sap the confidence and competence of others.

When a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a damage roll, you can use your reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and subtracting the number rolled from the creature’s roll. You can choose to use this feature after the creature makes its roll, but before the DM determines whether the attack roll or ability check succeeds or fails, or before the creature deals its damage. The creature is immune if it can’t hear you or if it’s immune to being charmed.

Endless Berating

6th level

"You have an entire life to be an idiot. Why not take today off?" Your experience criticizing those around you or standing against you never gets old as you enjoy it too much, allowing you to continue insulting and demoralizing for even longer.

The number of times you can use Bardic Inspiration increases to you Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus

Insidious Mindworm

14th-level

"You’re impossible to underestimate." You have a natural talent or have perfected discovering everyone's hidden fears and weaknesses allowing you to exploit them to the fullest extent possible. Your criticisms ring true with the intended target and acts like a song stuck in their head constantly distracting and sapping their resistances, draining their will.

If you have successfully caused harm to someone recently with your words such as with Vicious Mockery or Cutting words or other bardic spell or skill then they will have disadvantage against all saves against your future verbal attacks for the next hour or until you have been out of their sight and sound for 10 minutes. If someone is immune to Psychic damage they are now only resistant to Psychic damage from you and do not suffer from disadvantage. They will regain their immunity after combat ends.
