Circle of Wild Magic (5e Subclass)
Circle of Wild Magic[edit]
Druid Subclass
Druids of the Circle of Wild Magic know there is nothing more natural than wild magic, the raw life and matter from which the worlds were formed. They believe that wild magic is the purest manifestation of the Weave, and seek to further understand and use it to protect the rest of creation.
- Wild Magic Shape
Starting when you join this circle at 2nd level, your extraplanar knowledge and influences seep into your Wild Shape. Whenever you Wild Shape, roll a d20. If you roll a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Shape table to determine your form instead. If a form has the ability to cast spells, you instead may cast them using druid spell slots without providing material components.
d10 | Wild Magic Shape |
---|---|
1 | blue faerie dragon |
2 | displacer beast |
3 | hell hound |
4 | nightmare |
5 | phase spider |
6 | will-o'-wisp (knows no languages) |
7 | gelatinous cube |
8 | gargoyle |
9 | awakened tree (knows no languages) |
10 | myconid sovereign (can't use animating spores) |
At 20th level, you may instead choose to roll on the Wild Magic Shape table whenever you Wild Shape.
- Wild Echoes
Also at level 2, you gain the ability to call on the power of the planes to aid you in combat. When you are reduced to 0 hit points while transformed by Wild Shape, you can use your reaction and expend another use of Wild Shape to roll on the Wild Magic Shape table and assume that form as if you had used Wild Shape.
At 20th level, you may no longer use this feature.
- Planar Servant
By 6th level, you have learned to hear the pleas of a myriad of different entities. You can understand, but can't speak, Celestial, Infernal, Primordial, and Sylvan. In addition, you gain proficiency in (Wisdom) Insight. If you are already proficient in it, your proficiency bonus is instead doubled for any ability check you make that uses (Wisdom) Insight.
- Controlled Transformation
At 10th level, you are able to better control the shapes of your wild magic. Whenever you roll on the Wild Magic Shape table, you can roll twice and use either number.
- Chaos Slinger
By 14th level, you have learned to better harness the untamed power of raw magic. Once per turn, when you cast a leveled transmutation or evocation spell with a casting time of 1 action, you may cast a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action on the same turn as a bonus action.
