Circle of Rainbows (5e Subclass)
Circle of Rainbows[edit]
Druid Subclass
“ | Rainbows are visions, they're only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide. So we've been told and some chose to believe it, but I know they're wrong, wait and see. Someday, we'll find it: the rainbow connection; the lovers, the dreamers, and me. | ” |
Druids who follow the circle of rainbows embrace the beauty and power held in the myriad of colors formed by rainbows, and can use their connection with the light to manifest amazing natural powers. They dress themselves with vibrant colors and seek to share the love they feel for the bright beauty of nature with all creatures.
- Circle Spells
Your link to the mystical beauty of rainbows grants you access to certain spells. At 2nd level, and again at 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of Rainbows Spells table.
Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
Druid Level | Spells |
---|---|
2nd | chromatic orb, color spray |
3th | moonbeam, pyrotechnics (fireworks only) |
5th | beacon of hope, hypnotic pattern |
7th | aura of life, sickening radiance |
9th | dawn, wall of light |
17th | prismatic wall |
- Rainbow Magic
At 2nd level, you learn the minor illusion cantrip if you don't know it already. Additionally, when you cast a Circle of Rainbows spell of 5th-level or lower, you can spend a use of Wild Shape to cast the spell, at your highest spell slot available level (up to 5th-level), without spending a spell slot.
You can use this ability twice, and can't do it again until you finish a long rest.
- Charm of the Rainbow
Also at 6th level, you gain the ability to charm creatures with the beauty of nature. Whenever a creature fails a saving throw against one of your circle spells or take damage from them, that creature is also charmed by you until the end of your next turn, in addition to the normal effects.
- Rainbow Bridge
At 10th level, you gain the ability to link create a rainbow connection between you and a place that have been to before with a strong connection to nature. During the day and while outdoors, you can use an Action to cast teleportation circle without spending spell slots or material components. In between the local in which the spell have been cast and the place you arrive, a shimmering rainbow is formed.
Once you cast this spell using this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or a long rest.
- Prismatic Ray
At 14th level, you can fire a ray of rainbow light at foes. You learn the prismatic spray spell, that is always prepared and is considered a circle spell for you.
In addition, you can cast prismatic spray once without expending a spell slot. Once you do so, you can't do it again until you finish a long rest.
