Chwinga (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Physical Description[edit]
Chwingas (cheh-WING-ahz) are spirits, guardians of nature, who stand between half a foot and a foot tall, and resemble small animated dolls with white masks covering their faces. Like fingerprints, a chwinga's masks all bear different markings, often similar to that of an animal. They're slender and lean with wild, unkempt hair. Their appearance and personality is often determined by the climate in which they live.
Society[edit]
Chwingas are elemental creatures, as such, they don't require eating, drinking, or bathing. However, unlike other elementals, they still require sleep. They tend to reside within natural objects, such as rivers and trees. They are incapable of speech and they don't have names given by members of their kind. If they come in contact with other species, sometimes they may be given names. Chwingas consider themselves caretakers of the natural world, and are often seen forming symbiotic relationships with long living creatures, such as the dragon tortoise. Most chwingas are very shy, though they are naturally fascinated by humanoids. Beings that wear armor, carried weapons, and cooked food were particularly interesting to them, as they are naturally unfamiliar to civilization. If they take a particular liking to a creature, sometimes they may use magic to aid them in some way. The features that draw chwingas to other species are completely individual and may even be traits like one's artistic ability or their hairstyle.
Climate Features[edit]
Jungle: Jungle Chwingas have black skin
Tundra: Chwingas from Tundra environments have white skin
Desert: Desert Chwingas will have a tannish or orange colored skin
Wildspace Chwingas are also known to dwell in wildspace. Wildspace chwingas dwell in asteroids and habitable moons. Their appearance is like unto jungle chwingas, however rather than a mask the other variants wear, their head glows similarly to a star or comet.
Oftentimes when the weather is nice, chwingas will be more pleasant and joyous, while harsher weathers will cause them to be more evil or malicious.
