Dwarf Subrace[edit]

From Monster Manual 3.5e by Wizards of the Coast

In the Chultan Peninsula, there are dwarves that dwell among the dinosaurs and prehistoric jungles. There are the ones who live primitively, almost unlike the typical dwarves who are master of the forges. They were built for strength and centered around clans, hunting, and bravery over rational thought and pragmatism. It is thus fitting they be called the wild dwarves. They are known also as jungle dwarves and colloquially are called dur Authalar, meaning "the People." They are known to be able to use magic from that of clerics or a druidic nature, and almost all exclusively serve the jungle god Thard Harr.

Albino Variant[edit]

Underground, in the tunnels of Chult's mines, are the odd white ones, who live a spiritual life, unlike their rowdy overworld neighbors. Chultan dwarves are actually shield dwarves who underwent a discoloration of their pigment. They are even grumpier than normal shield dwarves. While they have a mining culture like other shield dwarves, they dress and live with a clan structure more like the wild dwarves of the peninsula. Their use of bones from great dinosaurs in their crafting lends a spiritual dimension to their work, and the marks on their bodies denote some of this belief. They are incredibly gifted with crafting items of precious ore and gems, which they are well able to find within the mines they call home. They trade diamond-edged weapons for goods like ivory with goblins. The tabaxi on the peninsula regard them as bad luck because the color white means death. Despite their somewhat calmer demeanor, these dwarves will defend their home to the death.
