Depending on casting time, this spell has a variety of effects.

If cast as a swift action, the spell has a range of touch, and deals 1d4 points of electricity damage per two caster levels to a single creature (maximum 10d4).

If cast as a standard action, it has a range of close, and deals 1d6 points of electricity damage per caster level to all creatures caught in its path (maximum 10d6).

If cast as a full-round action, it has a range of medium, and deals 1d8 points of electricity damage per caster level to all creatures caught in its path (maximum 10d8).

If 2 full rounds are taken, the spell has a range of long, and deals 1d10 points of electricity damage per caster level to all creatures caught in its path (maximum 10d10).

If 3 full rounds are taken, the spell has a range of long, is 15-foot wide line, and deals 2d6 points of electricity damage per caster level to all creatures caught in its path (maximum 20d6).
