Tiefling Subrace[edit]

The sins one commits in life are the chains that imprison them to the lower planes, thus the power over magical chains is a common one among various kinds of fiends, such as Chain Devils. You have a vestige of this power to summon infernal chains from your magic ancestry.

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1.
Infernal Chains. When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with a magically summoned chain that flies towards a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier), on a failed save the target is restrained by the chain for up to one minute, and can repeat the at the start of each of its turns, ending the effect on a successful save. While the creature is restrained by your chain, you can use a bonus action to reel it in up to 15 feet, with the creature pulled that same distance towards you.

You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Warden's Instincts. You have proficiency with the Athletics or Perception skill. If you are already proficient with both these skills, you gain proficiency with another skill of your choice.
