Celt (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Celts[edit]
“ | They walk amongst humans, but they're a bit more ... weird? Is that the word? They can see and feel things humans can't ... or maybe they just remember the things humans forgot a long time ago in the ways of the spirits... | ” |
Physical Description[edit]
These humanoids are usually 5'-6' feet tall with those at 5' weighing up to 180 lbs, and those at 6' weighing up to 250 lbs. They have red, blonde or brown hair. Although their builds vary wildly from humans, they look like humans for the most part. The only difference is that celts are more in tune with their spiritual side and thus can have odd eyes or an odd feeling around them. They can look human yet feel entirely otherworldly.
History[edit]
Celtic ancestors fought in the war of humans against beasts and spirits, siding with the humans. However, as the war grew weary, they found the conflict ridiculous and slowly gravitated towards diplomacy with the beast types, gaining their trust. They thus surpass normal human abilities in spells and communion with nature. After gaining the trust of animals, they sought to gain the trust of the spirits. After generations of celts failed repeated attempts at the trials of the spirit, a young warrior king among them eventually succeeded. This granted them immense power from their spirituality and they became more powerful than ever. With this power, they put an end to the conflict, showing their human counterparts the err in their insular thinking.
Society[edit]
The celts deserted the war between the spirits, beasts and humans, believing the entire thing to be frivolous. They spread out and lived off the land with their animal companions and among the most spiritual places in the world. They learned the language of their animals and expanded their society. They learned the sacred art of communicating with the great Spirits and began to grow spiritually. As their souls expanded to withstand magical energy passing through their cores, they grew stronger, adapting their bodies to the harsh wilderness they had called home for so many years. Celt society is thus very open yet close-knit. Their minimal hierarchy is based off spiritual prowess and insight, granting them a line of wise leaders.
