Canegii (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Canegii[edit]
Canegiis are a canine-humanoid species that reside majorly in foliage covered mountains among the forests. More uncommon territory locations may be structured in areas such as; rain forests, tundras, beaches, or grasslands.
Physical Description[edit]
Canegiis are a species that have the trait of polymorphing themselves into a wolf-like form. Each Canegii has a set of horns, this may range from 1-4 horns. Though more/less than two is considered quite rare. They may also be born with a typical long wolf tail, or a very short and fluffy one. They are also a bit slimmer than typical wolves to compliment their speed. Each Canegii also has 2 pairs of eyes, resulting in four eyes total. This is for an increased sense of sight. The lower eyes are in a usual position at a usual size, and their upper eyes are in place of eyebrows and move accordingly while also functioning the same as eyes. Canegii's do not have eyebrows. Canegiis theoretically do not have a gender, as they all possess genitalia similar to males. Though it is not uncommon for a Canegii to grow breasts. They may also be born with a more masculine frame or a more feminine one.
History[edit]
Legends are passed down by the Canegiis of the first generation of the species. This first line of Canegiis were known as the Crossunes, rumored to be created to serve as soldiers of God and have unremarkable power. These legends hold a very large part of significance in many packs, many of them including it into their ritual of choosing their alpha by giving their prayers before they compete, or even nicknaming the newly chosen alpha as their Crossune.
Society[edit]
Canegiis have a hierarchy system consisting of a singular alpha that gives commands and is the core to functioning to the entire pack. When a former alpha becomes deceased, a new alpha becomes chosen through a competition. This competition can last months, where two or more, even up to the entire pack, can attempt. If there is a singular participant and no one else decides to challenge them, they will automatically take the roll of alpha without a need to compete. Canegiis are also very territorial, they do not take too kindly to strangers or other species for that matter.
