Calligrapher (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Calligrapher[edit]
Artificer Subclass
“The Quill is mightier than the Sword? Oh please, we all know Magic Wands are superior to both” - Tasha
While many adventures laugh off the seemingly insignificant hobbies of artisans, Artificers are one of the few to truly find meaning in it. Using their brilliant minds, they have learned to imbue magical properties into such menial activities, one of which being Calligraphy. With some creative arcanic use and humble swordsmanship, Calligraphers seek to spread their artistic prowess to the world.
Tool Proficiency
When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Calligraphers Supplies, if you already have this proficiency, you may gain proficiency in any other type of artisans tools of your choice.
Calligrapher Spells
Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared, as shown on your Calligrapher Spells Table. These count as Artificer spells for you, but do not count against the number of spells you have prepared.

Mighty Quill
When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you have learned to imbue your magic prowess into your Calligraphers Supplies, turning one of your quills into a potent magic weapon. Once per long rest or by expending a spell slot of 1st-level or higher, as a bonus action on your turn, you can turn a non-magical quill in your possession into a Mighty Quill, a magic longsword(1d8) with the Versatile(1d10), Light, and Reach properties. You are proficient in using it, and you may use your Intelligence modifier for attack and damage rolls for it instead of Strength or Dexterity. The Mighty Quill lasts indefinitely, but you can not have more than one Mighty Quill at the same time, using this feature on another quill will revert the current Mighty Quill back into a regular quill. You can infuse your Mighty Quill, all infusions are kept between regular quill form and magical form, as well as making new Mighty Quills.
Writers Versatility
Your vast experience with Calligraphy has allowed you to make yourself much more useful in certain situations. By 3rd level, you can add your Intelligence Modifier to any roll involving Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma, after you see the possible outcome, along with any of their respective modifiers. You may also use this feature as a reaction to add your Intelligence Modifier to your AC until the end of the current turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses after finishing a long rest.
Extra Attack
At 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once when you take the Attack Action on your turn.
Calligraphic Expertise
At 9th level, you are capable of comprehending any form of writing, magical or non-magical, if you use your Calligrapher Supplies for 1 minute to decipher it. Additionally, you may add double your Intelligence Modifier to all attack and damage rolls made with your Mighty Quill if you choose it instead of Strength or Dexterity.
Calligraphic Mastery
At 15th level, you are able to manifest your Calligraphic Art into reality. On your turn, you may consume all of your movement, actions, and bonus actions to write a magic word in the air in front of you. You may choose any spell of 5th level or lower from any spell list and cast it immediately with no material components. The spell is treated as being cast at the highest spell slot level possible for it. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again for 1d4 long rests.
