Bulbon[edit]

The visitors did not expect an alien guest coming into the party.

Physical Description[edit]

Bulbons are considered otherworldly and alien because of their looks. They have orange skin and a regular humanoid body. Their skin pulsates with huge, purple veins protruding from their vascular system. Their heads are large and resemble octopi, but it is more spherical and not floppy. This head is dotted with reptilian eyes and sports tiny, retractable tentacles where the mouth is. Bulbons lack nostrils. Their feet resemble muscular claws.

History[edit]

Bulbon are shrouded in mystery mainly because to know of their origins often spells death. Humans colonized a planet in a distant star system and were unaware of all its hazards. When the four moons of the planet came to view one midnight, the humans awoke in horror at a searing pain in their bodies. They ran about, out of their houses and around the settlement, screaming in pain as the night bought about an odd radioactive light and ominous clouds gathered. The clouds rained a liquid which quickly turned gaseous as it fell, blanketing the settlement and much of the planet. When everyone awoke and came to some senses, they found their bodies completely changed to the bulbon. They did not retain their memories in the transformation. Seizing upon the human ships, they reconstructed them to build their new starcrafts and sail among the stars. It is said they search for more humans to drag back to their home planet to make more bulbons.

Society[edit]

Bulbons are usually treated derisively in other star systems and by more populous races. They have yet to achieve high numbers, but there is often rumor they are a race not to be involved with. Humans are especially vicious towards them, believing they murdered their settlement. Bulbons themselves are rather indifferent to this treatment, taking it in stride. They believe in the rise of their empire in the near future. Whether this bodes ill for the universe is not foreseen.
In their own group, bulbons follow a single leader. This leader is the one who plots courses and gives orders. Bulbons almost live exclusively on their starcrafts, which can be built, dismantled, and repurposed quickly. Versatility and flexible thinking it what makes bulbons enduring. They are loyal, however, to whoever their leader may be. It is typically the bulbon with the most perfect sphere for a head. This is believed to be indicative of the intellect necessary to lead.
