Saving Throws Dex +6 Spider Climb. The strider can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. Web Sense. While in contact with a web, the strider knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web. Web Walker. The strider ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing. ACTIONSBite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage and 2 (1d4) poison damage. Poison Web. Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, range 15 ft., one target. Hit: The target must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned until the end of the strider's next turn. While poisoned in this way, the target's movement speed is reduced by 5 feet.

Skittering on webs of sinew and silk that glisten with poison, bone striders haunt deep caverns. Visible by their glowing orange eyes, they take the form of a spider skeleton. To hunt, they drop down from their webs on unsuspecting prey, piercing flesh with poisoned bone. They can also shoot poisoned webs to hamper their prey, which they use to bind it helpless before eating it. Drow sometimes keep these horrors as pets and guards, placing them in webbing near choke points to snare unsuspecting adventurers. Undead Nature. A bone strider doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep. |
