--Warden (talk) 23:53, 25 April 2014 (MDT) A Bolas whip deals nonlethal damage. It deals no damage to any creature with an armor bonus of +1 or higher or a natural armor bonus of +3 or higher. The Bolas whip is treated as a melee weapon with 20-foot reach, though you don’t threaten the area into which you can make an attack. In addition, unlike most other weapons with reach, you can use it against foes anywhere within your reach (including adjacent foes). Using a Bolas whip provokes an attack of opportunity, just as if you had used a ranged weapon unless it's range is 10ft or shorter. When using a Bolas whip, you get a +4 bonus on opposed attack rolls made to disarm an opponent (including the roll to keep from being disarmed if the attack fails). You can use the Weapon Finesse feat to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to attack rolls with a Bolas whip sized for you, even though it isn’t a light weapon for you. You can make normal trip attacks as with a whip or you can throw the bolas head for a trip attack. When using the bolas you trip as well as deal weapon damage as if it were one size larger. In addition after a successful trip attempt with bolas the enemy is entangled as if caught in a net with the same rules and restrictions to their status. The wielder can release them from entanglement as a move action. Due to it's great length you can as a move action pull the end of the whip to you cutting it's rang in half but increasing it's damage by one size with the minimum range of 5 feet and maximum increase of two die sizes. When using the whip this way the bolas can not be used with the increased die size. You can however throw the bolas, and in doing so return the whip to full range and normal damage. Any level of master work will increase the base damage die by one size and will treat there armor bonus to ac as if it were 1 lower for every level of bonus lower for purposes of dealing damage to opponent. For natural armor each level of master work lowers it by 3 for purposes of dealing damage.
