Cleric Subclass

The Bokor is a Voodoo Priest for hire that serves the Loa, while practicing magic with both hands -right hand and left hand path magic. Using his own life blood to enhance healing spells, while also cursing and hexing his enemies. As he gains knowledge from the Loa he will eventually be able to control undead, those he has made a fetish out of.

Weapon of the Loa

At 1st level, the Loa has gifted the Bokor with thrown weapon built from the shadows of the other side. This weapon may be thrown, and once it strikes the target, it disappear back to the other side allowing the Bokor to summon another in his hand.

This weapon has the properties of a Spear, but uses your spell attack bonus, instead of your weapon attack bonuses. The weapon also causes necrotic damage, rather than piercing.

Disciple of Voodoo

Starting at 1st level, your healing spells are more effective. Whenever you cast a spell that restore a creature's hit point, you can choose to cast that spell at one level higher. If you do so, you take damage equal to 1d8, plus 1d8 per level of the spell slot used. The damage is necrotic, and can't be reduced in any way.

You can cast a spell at a higher level using this feature even if the new level is above your maximum spell slot available.

Channel Divinity: Blessing of the Loa

At the 2nd level, the Bokor can use an Action to channel a blessing from the loa themselves into himself or an ally granting them advantage on attacks or one skill check for 1 minute.

Control of the Loa

Starting at 6th level, you can use your magic to control the actions of a beast dragon, giant, humanoid or monstrosity as if using the command spell, at will. You must spend 10 minutes building and link the target to a fetish (a voodoo doll for example) and must has an article from the target such as a treasured item, lock of hair, nails or drip of blood (or another, at the DM discretion). You must attune to the fetish (as you would for any magical item).

The fetish has an AC of 10 and 1 hit point. If Destroyed, the target linked to it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC, or takes 4d12 necrotic damage, or half as much on successful save.

Fangs of the Loa

Starting at 8th level, the Bokor gain the ability to infuse his weapon strikes with poison – a gift from the Loa. Once on each of his turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, he can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 poison damage to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8.

Serpents of the Loa

Starting at 17th level, when he would normally roll one or more dice of damage or healing, when casting a spell from your Bokor Spell list or when breaking a Fetish, you can choose to cause maximum damage instead of rolling. For example, a Bokor casting the Inflict Wounds spell at 2nd-level can use this feature to cause 40 points of necrotic damage, instead of rolling 4d10.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once) and regain your uses after finishing a long rest.
