Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of a Blitz Knight.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: All Blitz Knight are trained in the use of all weapons. They are proficient in all simple and martial weapons, light armor, and shields (except tower shields), as well as one exotic light armor or non-tower shield.

Sonic Dash (Ex): Blitz Knights excel at closing the gap between themselves and their deadly adversaries. Beginning at 1st level the Blitz Knight is treated as if she has Spring Attack even if she does not normally meet the prerequisites for it, so long as she is wearing light or no armor and wielding a Light or Heavy shield.

Upon reaching 6th level her speed increases greatly, allowing her to deflect more incoming attacks. She is furthermore treated as if having Bounding Assault, so long as she observes the armor and shield restrictions from above. In addition to the extra target and attack she can make while using Spring Attack, she can also parry a number of attacks equal to half of her attacks granted by her BAB (rounded down). These parries follow the same rules as normal parries.

Beginning at 11th level she is treated as if she possessed the Greater Spring Attack feat allowing her to make a full attack when using the Spring Attack feat, so long as she observes the armor and shield restriction above.

And finally at 16th level she has made her foot work look like a work of art. She can now attack any number of targets within range of her movement speed, up to the number allowed by her base attack bonus per round, plus any extra granted by feats, class features, and weapon enchantments should she decide to take a full attack that round. She also gains a bonus to all parry attempts and a Dodge Bonus to AC for each subsequent successful attack in that round.

At 20th level her focus has become the workings of a legend. She may now pick any armor and/or shield in which she is not proficient in and after 5 minutes of uninterrupted practice gain permanent proficiency with that armor/shield so long as it is a light armor and not a tower shield. Furthermore her focus is so internalized she may block a number of blows for free each round equal to the number of attacks she can make with her base attack bonus for free so long as she makes a full attack or the equivalent that round.

Battle Focus (Ex): The Blitz Knight picks a style of combat that best suits them, and follows it to the exclusion of all others. At 1st level she picks a suit of light armor with which she has proficiency in, and gains the benefit of Armor Focus with it. She also picks a shield with which she has proficiency in and gains a bonus to all parry attempts, so long as she wears a shield of that type. If at any time she wishes the armor and/or shield she is focused on, or is forced to do so (i.e. one or both are destroyed) she must have both the new and old armor/shield present and must train and meditate with them for 8 uninterrupted hours (except for eating and drinking). After this time she has become sufficiently familiar with her new armor/shield to focus them.

Beginning at 4th Level she gains the benefit of Armor Specialization, so long as she is wearing light or no armor, and wielding a shield that isn't a tower shield, as well as a bonus to Dexterity and Constitution equal to 1/4th his level (rounded down).

At 6th level she has become more aware of her weaknesses, and better able to make up for them. She can apply her Dexeterity bonus as a dodge bonus to AC, so long as she is wearing light or no armor, or can add her Constitution bonus as an untyped bonus to her HP each level, which stacks with all other bonuses, but can only apply one bonus at a time. At 12th level she can apply both.

Eventually her focus with her armor and shield become an afterthought and is better able to shore up her weakpoints with them, thus giving her the benefits of Resist Critical and Greater Armor Focus at 8th level.

She becomes so focused with her armor or shield that a portion of her being is stored in them, in turn giving a form of sentience, allowing her to better block incoming attacks at the best possible moment to avoid damage. Beginning at 10th level she may now place an enhancement bonus equal to half her class level , split between the armor and shield. For purposes of attack types, this is now considered magical. (Consult with your DM first before adding armor or shield abilities beyond the normal enhancement.)

Her prowess has become so finely attuned to her focus that she can time her movements to place her armor just so to block attacks, giving her the benefits of Greater Armor Specialization and Armor Mastery upon reaching 12th and 14th level respectively.

After braving unknown dungeons and surviving countless battles one can scarcely tell her apart from her armor and shield. She has become a veritable walking wall in her own right and her suit and shield become an extension of herself. Upon reaching 18th level she is treated as if she possessed Armor Supremacy for her chosen armor, and any benefits she may receive from it are doubled where applicable (consult with your DM to determine what these may be).

Bonus Feats: A Blitz Knight has a similar training regime as a fighter and has thus picked up a few tricks that a fighter would be granted. Starting at 1st level she may pick any feat from the fighters list of bonus feats, with the following restrictions: that they can be applied to light armors and non-Tower Shields, non-offensive (i.e. attacks, damage, combat maneuvers like Bullrush and Overrun, and so on), and any that apply only to medium and heavy armors or tower shields. She gains another bonus feat at 2nd, 7th, 12th and every five levels thereafter. These are in addition to the feats granted by character level and other feats granted by this class. Consult with your DM for a full list of feats that may picked as bonus feats.

Wise Defence (Ex): A Blitz Knight learns to hone all of her senses to such a high degree, that her body warns her of impending danger allowing her to move out of the way to avoid an attack directed at her person. She may add her Wisdom modifier (if positive) as a bonus to her AC. This also applies to touch attacks as long as she is aware of them (i.e. If the attacker is invisible she is denied this bonus). Like a Monk this bonus is denied if helpless, or wearing any form of armor heavier than light or wearing a shield a tower shield.

Evasion (Ex): At 2nd level and higher, A Blitz Knight can avoid even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If she makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if she is wearing light or no armor. A helpless Blitz Knight does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Mettle (Ex): Whenever she makes a successful Fortitude or Will saving throw that would normally lessen (rather than negate) the effect of a spell or other magical ability, it has no effect on her at all. Any spell that is normally negated by a successful saving throw is unaffected by this ability.

Fast Movement (Ex): +10' Base land speed level 5, 9, 13, 17.

Improved Evasion (Ex): At 10th level this ability works like evasion, except that while she still takes no damage on a successful Reflex saving throw against attacks, she henceforth takes only half damage on a failed save. A helpless Blitz Knight does not gain the benefit of improved evasion.

Greater Mettle (Ex): At 13th level this ability works like mettle, except that while she still negates any effect on a successful Fortitude or Will saving throw against attacks, she henceforth takes only a partial effect on a failed save. A helpless Blitz Knight does not gain the benefit of Greater Mettle.

Battle Rush (Ex): Once a Knight of the Blitz has become familiar with her tactics she may increase her speed at the cost of her endurance. There comes a battle that her allies face death itself, and is given a choice. Does she choose to let them die or sacrifice a portion of herself to ensure her allies get through to the end of that battle? Beginning at 15th level she may take damage equal to her level (this cannot be be reduced or ignored by any source) and all of her movement speeds are doubled for a number of rounds equal to her Constitution bonus. This extra movement is treated as her base speed for purposes of requirements. This extra movement is equal to the base speed of each mode of movement plus any applicable modifiers. She must declare that she is using this ability at the beginning of her turn and gives up any Attacks of Opportunity, with exception of AoO for the round, due to how taxing this is. During this time any movement she makes does not provoke AoOs. She may only do this once per encounter, up to half her class level per day (rounded down).

Epic Sonic Dash: A Blittz Knight's prowess has become more than just a mere mortal's ability. Upon attaining 21st level she is granted an extra parry. At every five levels thereafter she gains an additional parry. These are treated as if they were granted by an increase in BAB and can only be made in a full attack action and wearing light or no armor and with a non-tower shield. The bonus these are made with are from the BAB and the Epic attack bonus.

Epic Battle Focus: A Blitz Knight's focus has become legendary. The armor and shield she has chosen have become magical in their own right and her speed and resilience continue to grow even further. The bonus to her abilities continues the grow by 1 in each for every four levels above 20th she obtains. The enhancement bonus to her armor and shield continues to increase every even level, and can be applied to one or both pieces as she chooses, and no longer has a cap to what either can be enhanced (consult your DM for any magical abilities that you wish to apply).

Fast Movement: Upon reaching 22nd level a Blitz Knight's base speed increases by +10'. This bonus increases by an additional +10' on 25th level and every three levels thereafter.

Epic Battle Rush: Upon reaching 25th level A Blitz Knight has pushed her endurance past her previous limits and can now keep pushing herself further even at the cost of falling in battle to protect her allies even more so. She can now use Battle Rush any number of times per encounter up her class level per day. Her speed boost is further increased by another doubling (following the rules for two doublings equal a tripling...) for a number of rounds equal to 1 1/2 times her Constitution modifier (rounded down) (max = class level). In addition to the previous restrictions, each time after the first use in a given encounter, he becomes fatigued and then exhausted after each use (this cannot be ignored by immunity to either, due to the strain he his putting on his body). Further uses after becoming exhausted she must make a constitution check (DC = 10 + CON + 1 per use [min 3]) to continue using this ability. Feats and class features like the Endurance feat can still be used as normal.

Bonus Feats: The epic Blitz Knight gains a bonus feat (selected from the list of epic Blitz Knight bonus feats) every 3 levels after 20th.

Epic Blitz Knight Bonus Feat List: See Epic fighter's bonus feat list, with the same restrictions as above (i.e. armor/shield only, non-offensive/tower shields, etc...)
