Blade Dancer[edit]

Ranger Subclass

Walking the way of the blade dancer means preferring finesse over brute strength. It means dodging and diving through waves of foes, slicing each one down. It means acrobatically dancing around a giant's punches before felling it. It means wielding two blades at the same time as extensions of your very being.

Conclave Spells

Also at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell of 1st level or higher when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Bladedancer Spells table. Each spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Ranger Level Spells
3rd zephyr strike
5th misty step
9th haste
13th freedom of movement
17th steel wind strike
Gracious Movement

Starting at 3rd level, you can add your Dexterity modifier to your Charisma (Performance) checks if you are able to move.

In addition, you gain proficiency in Acrobatics and Performance, and add twice your proficiency bonus on these skills if you are already proficient with them.

War Dance

Starting at 3rd level, you can move your blades with ferocious precision for both offensive and defensive means. When you are engaged in two-weapon fighting, you can choose to adopt a defensive or offensive dance until the start of your next turn.

Defensive Dance. When you or a creature you can see within 5 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to roll your weapon's damage die and reduce the damage taken by the number rolled + half your ranger level (rounded down).
Offensive Dance. Once per turn when you hit a creature with both your action and bonus action attack when engaged in two-weapon fighting, the second attack is a critical.
Skirmish

At 7th level, as a bonus action, you can move 20 feet without provoking opportunity attacks and make two attacks as part of that bonus action. After making the attack, you can move up to half your movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

None of this movement count against your maximum movement speed on your turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Dance of Death

At 11th level, you begin to twirl your blades with a ferocious performance of death and pain. Using your reaction when you hit a creature with an attack while engaged in two-weapon fighting, you can begin a dance of death, that give you the following benefits for 1 minute or until you're incapacitated:

  • Your walking speed increases by 10 feet and ignore opportunity attacks.
  • If you're prone, you can stand up by spending 5 feet of movement.
  • You can attack three times, instead of twice, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Once you activate this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you spend a spell slot of 1st-level or higher to do so again.

The duration increases to 10 minutes by spending spell slots of 2nd and 3rd level and 1 hour with spell slots of 4th or 5th levels.

Blade Flow

Starting at 15th level, you can unleash a flurry of strikes against your opponents. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack while engaged in two-weapon fighting, you can make two additional melee weapon attacks without taking an additional action.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
