Bladedancer Conclave, Variant (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Bladedancer Conclave, Variant[edit]
Ranger Subclass
Being a blade dancer can be underestimated by many, looking like a mere dancer who uses his swords to add more elegance to his movements, being considered even a clown or artist, yes, it is an art but this art serves in combat as well, being as efficient as a fighter and as fast as an agile rogue, no doubt whoever sees you fight will witness how lethal your movements are and how difficult it is to hit you.
Gracious Movements[edit]
Starting at 3rd level the way you fight is almost like a dance for you, while not wearing armor, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
You gain the Two-Weapon Fighting fighting style and proficiency in Acrobatics and Performance skills, if you don't have already. You can perform the Somantic component without the necessity of having your hands free due to your graceful movements.
Agile fighter[edit]
Your fighting style looks more like a dance than a battle. You move nimbly between enemies, avoiding their strikes. Starting at 3rd level, while you are not wearing medium armor, heavy armor or shield, you gain the following benefits:
- Your speed increases by 10 feet
- Whenever you are hit by an attack or forced to make a Dexterity saving throw, you can use your reaction to add +2 to your AC or +4 to the save, potentially turning that hit into a miss.
- When you are prone, standing up uses only 5 feet of your movement.
- You may draw or save a number of weapons (up to your proficiency bonus) as a free action.
- Melee weapons in which you are proficient and lack the heavy and two-handed property, gain the finesse property.
Extra Attack[edit]
Feature only for UA Revised Ranger
At 5th level, you may attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Fast Foot Reaction[edit]
Starting at 5th level, when an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the attack's damage against you, like Uncanny Dodge
Swift Dance[edit]
At 7th level your movements are fast, therefore your reaction capacity is equally fast, you gain Evasion and if you can see/sense your favored enemy, you can make a Dexterity saving throw to avoid opportunity attacks coming from your favored enemy.
Dance Mastery[edit]
Starting at 11th level, you reach the complete control over a style of dance. You gain one of the following features:
- Dance of Death. Once per turn, when you hit a creature that is under half its maximum amount of hit points, you cause additional 3d4 damage on a hit. In addition, if your attack causes a creature Large sized or lower to be reduced to a number of hit points equal to your Ranger level, that creature is decapitated (if possible) killing it instantly.
- Dance of War. When engaged in two-weapon fighting, your weapon damage dice are rolled with advantage and your attacks gain extra damage equal to your proficiency modifier.
- Dance of Wind. Whenever you successfully avoid an attack or succeed a saving throw using your Agile Fighter feature, you can make an attack against a creature within 5 feet and move up to half your movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
- Dance of Vengeance. When you are hit by an attack from a creature within 5 feet, you can use your reaction to cause half that damage to the attacker. The damage type is the same of your weapon's type.
Master of the Dance[edit]
At 15th level, your mastery of fighting and precision moves begins to reach its highest peak. Using your reaction when you hit a creature with an attack while fighting with two weapons, you can start a special dance that gives you the following benefits for 1 minute or until you become incapacitated:
- Your walking speed increases by 10 feet and you ignore attacks of opportunity.
- You gain +2 to your AC and advantage on Acrobatics checks.
- You may attack once additionally whenever you take the attack action.
- You are immune to the effects of exhaustion and have advantage in avoiding being grabbed, restrained, prone and stunned.
Once you activate this trait and the effect ends, you gain 1 point of exhaustion, you can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum once), and you regain all spent uses when you finish a long rest.
