The ogre traveled down the path, laughing at smaller creatures and confident he would pillage the next small village.
"You won't get to our town!" A small goblin said, "We have a guardian!"
"Oh, and who is this gauwdian?" The ogre asked in a mocking tone as he strangled the squirming goblin.
"Over----th-ere!" The goblin choked out.
The guardian looked like a small squid in the distance.
"Ha ha! And dat is yow puny gawdian?? HA HA HA H- uh...," The ogre was cut short.
"Say another word and I'll eat your head whole!" The cephalopod-like thing said telepathically in a gurgly, raspy voice.

A Blaad'O surrounds itself in light and teleports behind the orc chieftain, then stabs him straight through the middle. He falls over, and the other orcs turn around surprised. The Blaad'O then proceeds to raise a small blue chunk of a slug, an orb of acid emitting from it. All the orcs disintegrate into ash as the Blaad'O rolls away, nearly unscathed.

As the warrior squids fend off the quadrones, the high priestess summons a swarm of insects. They quickly devour the quadrones whole, as well as the Blaad'O. She walks into the temple, sad about the outcome, but resumes her usual temple prayer.

Physical Description

Blaad' Os are a race of humanoid squid with three glowing red eyes on their face. Their head looks like the head of a large, fat squid. They have a curved, fat body and strong, floppy arms with small, sharp tentacles for fingers at the ends of their arms. Rather than normal legs, they have rubbery trunk-like tentacles that are thicker than the others which have the structure to allow them to stand upright. On their face is some mouth tentacles that obscure their beak of a mouth. The skin of a blaad'o is always slimy with special mucus, and it comes in a variety of colors. Because blaad'os do not have traditional skeletal structures, they can squeeze into spaces other creatures their size have trouble with. But they remain quite large and meaty, and can be taller than a human on average.

History

The history of this race is shrouded in secrecy. Only through hushed whispers in dark places do you hear mentions of the terrible Underdark experiments that illithids performed to create these horrid guardians from the deep. Although their exact history isn't clear, what is known is awful and full of torture to harmless animals and people. They are a race spawned from evil and malice and that is enough history for most who choose to avoid these hulking beasts. Despite the evil of their original creators, blaad'os manage to remain somewhat morally upright, even if they are very angry people in general.

Society

Blaad' Os live in what they call "Gathks", which have 5 leaders, and 2 "subleaders." These Gathks are akin to villages. There are rumoredly 20 Gathks in total, scattered around the world. Each of the 20 villages has fifteen healers, and 20-30 warriors. Healers are typically female blaad'os and warriors are usually male. This extends into their preference for jobs and classes, but is not binding by any means. Blaad'Os have some religiosity remaining from their time under the illithids. They worship a god which is a rumored cephalopod being from the Far Plane. This deity is supposedly a conjuration of their festering hatred from their experimentation. It is unknown if this is a malevolent curse.

Blaad' Os Traits

Humanoid squids with three red eyes. (Kind of like a miniature Cthulhu.)
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2. Your Intelligence score increases by 1.
Age. Blaad' Os mature fully at age 50, and can grow to be 230 years old.
Alignment. Blaad' Os are often Chaotic, for they have a fierce nature.
Size. They have the same weight and height as most humans. Your size is Medium.
Speed. You have a base walking speed of 25 feet and a swim speed of 40 feet.
Filled with Hatred. Blaad' Os can channel their horrid anger at creatures who harm them, allowing them to cleave through weak enemies. When you take damage from an attack, you can, as a reaction, designate the creature that attacked you as your hated target. While you have a hated target, your skin turns a shade of red. You have the advantage on all weapon attacks against your hated target and they have advantage on all weapon attacks against you as long as you remain within 20 feet of them. You may only have one hated target at a time. This ability lasts for 1 minute and you must finish a long rest to designate another hated target.
Thick Mucous. You have a wet layer of mucus that covers your skin. You are resistant to fire damage and you can fit through gaps big enough for Small creatures without squeezing.
Hulking Horror. Your form repulses most who look upon you. You are proficient with the Intimidation skill.
Languages. You can speak, read and write Common and you can telepathically communicate with creatures 20 feet of you that share the same language.
