Way of the Binate Duelist[edit]

Monastic Tradition

A swordsman stands alone in a blood-soaked battlefield, before him a creature of monstrous proportions. The creature raises its leathery palm upward, in a matter of seconds the creature is split open, hundreds of little cuts begin to pour open, it drops to the ground.

An elf perches herself high in a tree, below her- a group of fey-hunting mercenaries. The elf drops in between them, weapons outstretched, she cut open the group of killers before continuing on her way.

A volley of arrows darkens the sky above. The swordsman pulls his two longswords from the dirt. In an instant the arrows descend, sparks and wood shavings scatter the ground as the swordsman slices at sonic speed what would be his death, into nothing.

Monks who follow the way of the binate duelist specialize in wielding a pair of weapons in combat, using their martial prowess to make flowing attacks with two weapons.

Daunting

At 3rd level, you have an overpoweringly intimidating presence. You gain proficiency in Intimidation. If you already have proficiency, your proficiency bonus is doubled. In addition, when wielding a pair of melee weapons, you can choose to use your Dexterity, instead of Charisma, for Intimidation checks.

Dual Wielding

At 3rd level when you choose this tradition, you master the technique of fighting with two weapons. When you take the Attack action to attack with a light monk weapon you wield in one hand, you can replace any unarmed strike made with your bonus action by an attack with another light monk weapon wielded in your other hand. At 6th level, you can use your Duel Wielding feature with any one-handed monk weapon. Finally, at 17th level, when you wield a one-handed weapon with the versatile property in one hand, you benefit form the versatile feature as if you wielded that weapon in two hands.

You can use your Duel Wielding feature to replace your flurry of blows unarmed strikes with weapon strikes. In addition, you may choose to touch two melee weapons to use as Monk Weapons if you are using the optional Dedicated Weapon feature.

Cross Block

At 3rd level, you are able to perform a block using both of your weapons. As a reaction when take damage from a melee attack when you wield two weapons, you can spend 1 ki point to roll 1d10 + your Monk level + your Dexterity modifier, reducing the damage by the amount rolled.

If you reduce the damage to 0 hit points, you can attack with both weapons as part of the same reaction.

Improved Critical

At 6th level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20. This increases to 18-20 at 17th level.

Ki-Empowered Blades

Also at 6th level, any non-magical monk weapon is counted as magical for the purpose of overcoming damage resistance.

Double Circular

At 11th level, you have learned to attack in a large area. You can use your action to make melee attacks against any number of creatures within 5 feet of you, with a separate attack roll for each target. When you hit a creature with an attack made as part of a double circular, you can spend 1 ki point to force that creature to make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the target is knocked 10 feet back and prone.

You can use your bonus action as if you had taken an Attack action after using this feature.

The Eclipse

At 17th level, you have learned your ultimate attack combo. As an action, you may spend any number of ki points when attacking a single target within 5 feet of you. Each ki point spent grants you one additional attack against that target. If that target is killed or knocked unconscious while using this feature, your action ends.
